mixing champix with phentermine?

I'm worried about my friend, she has been prescribed champix to quit smoking from her doctor, but has also gone to some clinic to buy phentermine to lose weight. She will not tell her doctor about these other tablets and I am wondering if it is safe for her to be mixing the two?

I have tried to tell her not to take them but she does not listen. She takes 1mg of champix and 30mg of phentermine a day.

If anyone knows about mixing these could you please give me some advise.

There is data stating that these two do not have any adverse interactions when mixed together. However, it is always advised to consult with a doctor, especially when taking medications unfamiliar to them. It is also not a good idea to lose weight at the same time with stopping an old habit, which in this case is smoking. It may have bad effects in the psyche and the body as well. You may want to tell her to mention this to her doctor so she may be monitored for any problems that may arise in the future.
