I would like to lose weight without taking phentermine again...
A few years ago i took phentermine and lost 80 pounds. During my pregnancy i gained more weight than i should have. Now i want to start losing weight again but i do not want to take phentermine because while i was taking it it caused a lot of mood swings and made me jittery and nervous as well as making my heart beat way to fast. I don't want to take something that could harm me especially since i have a daughter now. I was just wondering if anyone has ever lost weight with phentermine, gained it back for some reason, and tried again and lost weight without taking the phentermine. If so how did you go about losing the weight?

The healthiest way to lose weight of course is through diet and exercise but I know that you are already aware of this and I know that it is not an easy feat. Aside from that there are pharmaceutical means other than phentermine like the drug Orlistat. It has no serious side effects like phentermine but just like any other drug, it does have side effects of its own. Some are uncomfortable and some embarrassing like oily stools, fecal incontinence & flatulence.

Orlistat is a drug that promotes loss of weight by preventing the digestion and absorption of fat in food. In the intestine, an enzyme called lipase (produced primarily by the pancreas) breaks apart fat in food so that it can be absorbed into the body. Orlistat blocks the action of lipase and thereby prevents the breakup and absorption of fat. Orlistat blocks absorption of about 25% of the fat in a meal. The unabsorbed fat is excreted in the stool.

Ive been taking Alli for about 4 months and have lost close to 20 lbs so far. Now before you laugh or condemn me, let me just say I have followed the directions on the pamphlet, have watched my diet, and exercised. I have always watched my diet and exercised and have found it very difficult to drop weight. With Alli, it seems to be working for me. You wont lose the 20 to 30 lbs in just 30 days like they advertise, unless of course you starve yourself, but if you follow the guidelines you will slowly lose LBS..

I would have continued using Alii, but the "side effects" were just too troublesome. Calling them "side effects" is not only a euphemism, but a pun. You will quickly learn to carry extra underpants to work, along with wet-wipes, and to "never trust a fart" (explosive, oily flatulence). It's truly horrible. Sorry for the crude comments, but there is just no other way to say it properly.
