Default Looking for F2F in NYC for Prescription refill

I am looking for a FTF consult in NYC (lower Manhattan preferred). I am looking to have my prescription for Vicodin refilled. I do have health insurance.

    Can anyone recommend a facility?

The closest one would be eclinicmd.com--they have a doctor in Brooklyn.

eclinicmd as the other F2F companies will not take health insurance. You will be able to use it if they give you a script, but not for the appt itself

also, NNCIP.com has a Doctor in One of the Five burroughs....The consult, like said above, isnt covered via-insurance.

And if someone gave you a pile of gold, you'd probably complain that it was too heavy.

For what condition(s) are you prescribed vicodin? I know a great pain clinic in Manhattan that I can personally attest to, and I know others who have been similarly pleased with their experiences.

Sorry to jump your post Johnny Rotten -

I have 4 displaced discs in my back. 3 cervical and 1 lumbar from 12 years in the Navy operating small boats as as assault boat coxswain and gunner. VA has relentlessly pushed invasive surgery and I am reluctant as my dad had disc surgery and never walked again. However, I need meds to function normally or the neuropathy becomes overwhelming. I can't sit for more than 30 minutes at time and sleeping except in a few very weird positions is difficult when I am off meds.

My primary care MD retired and I am stuck with no Primary or PM Doc that will write for the very simple things I need: not too serious narcotic/analgesic (which type doesn't matter so long as the CAD is right), Flexerill, Ambien and oral steroids (like Methylprednisolone) during severe flare ups.

I have 4 or 5 MRIs spaced over 7 years with the last being '08 or '09, EEGs, narratives galore, records of several epidural and trigger point sessions, etc. My Primary Care MD would certainly write a letter introducing me if that would help. Any ideas?
Can anyone recommend a PM doc or primary care MD that will give someone a fair evaluation and who isn't afraid to prescribe when warranted? Thanks so much.

    Johnny,
I am surprised you can't find a new dr who will Rx those meds. Those are probably the most prescribed meds for back pain. I would think that almost any Dr. would not have a problem Rxing those for your needs, especially with all your medical records ro warrant.

If you want a F2F referral company to find you a PM Dr. who can Rx on a monthly basis a sch II I would recommend 1stchoicemeds. The initial fee is $275 and monthly $100. It's one of the less expensive f2f companies.
They have a website if you want to look at it.

    Default f2f in NY area

Bigpesce58, were you able to find a f2f? I just spoke with 1st choicemeds and they have a Dr. in Brooklyn (looks to be Gravesend area) but he only is in the office every 2-3 months, and another Dr. in Yonkers area.
I am in the city, but I will have to probably see the Dr. in Yonkers.

Has anyone used 1st choise before or seen a f2f Dr. in the NYC metro area? I'd love to know your experiences with any aspect of these services (issues filling scripts or how the office visits were? shady?)

@johnnyrotten518, and @bigpesce58, I am really curious if either of you found a Dr in the NYC/NY area?

If so, did you use a referral service or found out through someone else?

    Thanks@

FAIRYNYPMPH, If you are still on the board can you give the name of the great Manhattan pain clinic. I suffer from lower back pain and my md gives me medication very grudgingly. Thanks so much!

    Greetings,

I am currently using a pain care clinic in Manhattan. They are highly regulated and patients are drug tested constantly which is fine as this is the only source meds I use. My condition is genuine and I have had MRI's and physical therapy etc. If some of the previous members like @JohnnyJA need a great doctor who will listen and set up a treatment plan immediately, I am sure they can help you.

    Hope I can help!
