Okay so I thought I would keep you all updated with my efforts to obtain a decent medication. I am following up on my last post where I explained that I was prescribed Tramadol off the bat and took this as a good sign. Well it turns with my latest appointment my primary doctor prescribed me Vicoden, and says it is to hold me through my first visit with an orthopedic surgeon/ specialist who also is trained in sports medicine, who he recommends and says will help me.
So my question is, what should I do next and what should I expect? My plan is to say the vicoden helped allot and that I hope for them to keep me on it if I am to be treated by them instead of having to go back to my primary care to get more of the medication. I talked to the orthopedic specialist and they said they would do everything they could to manage my pain up until a certain point, when I would be directed to a pain clinic.
I would prefer to stick with them (sports dr./ orthopedic specialist) if they will RX me vicoden, and ecventually ES or norco, because I figure they would be more chill then a pain clinic and I would likely not be drug tested with them, which would allow me to continue using marijuana if I so choose. Any and all input or advise is appreciated. Lets get the conversation started in hopes we can help others in a similar position.
