After awhile for a disc injury it seems your/my/whomever's regular doctor or back doctor will get sick of prescribing painkillers. And tell you that you needa go to pain management, or tell you to quit.

    Pain Management,
It was way too expensive for me to get 45 Norcos or Oxy15s per visit. Never refills without going in for another appointment and paying upfront. If you have your records getting a script shouldn't be a problem at a PM, as long as you can pay.

@micko I know what your saying seems like anytime I ask my family doc for pain meds they act as though Iam an herion addict or something. @akl63 I think hes right your family doc does not want to keep precribing so they send you to a pain clinic. Expect to pay lots of money. The drug test alone can be between 500-1000. not sure if insurance covers it. I was going to a pain clinic but I got drug tested and they found Tramadol so I screwed myself. Best of luck

As soon as pain is deemed chronic, regular docs won't touch it. And if they do it won't be repeatedly. Unless its the surgeon that operated on you maybe.

I never had to take a drug test or anything like that. Just about $350 before every appt.

You would have to look up pain clinics locally in your district, google dem. Here are two national pain agencies that can perhaps steer you with better information both financially and locally:

    American Pain Foundation
    National Pain Foundation

anyone have any info on doctors or pain clinics in and around Denver who will help me with my chronic back pain management. I have current MRI on disc and a full written report on all disc problems. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated also. Thanks and have a wonderful day
