I can't recommend them at this point...I paid to see a Dr almost $300 who only gave me a prescription for a week, Rick told me.the Dr would call me to rectify the situation...well that was last Thursday and i have yet to hear from him!! I can't believe I paid so much money just for a week of meds..very disappointed....to say the very least...since I saw the Dr it has been nothing but a headache...
Hoping to get a resolution soon bug I'm beginning to doubt it will happen...
I will update here if that happens..

If he has a doctor in your area, I recommend Jeff at Central Medical Consults. He is A straight up good guy. He will not mislead you and has excellent communication. Rick at 1st Choice is a bit pushy and is more of a salesman type.

Thanks, @mrsjones, I will keep that in mind...
I am annoyed that I went to all the trouble and paid the $$ and have had only issues since seeing the Dr...
Rick was helpful at first and has been seemingly trying to rectify the situation but it has almost been a week and I have not heard from this Dr. now since they only gave me a week's worth of meds, I am almost out and have no idea when this Dr. will call me...
    I am really annoyed...

hi.. been awhile since I posted. I had a killer exam that took up all my free time when not working but thankfully behind me now. I was just wondering if anyone had trouble getting a refund from 1st choice meds? I scheduled my second appointment which was to be the quarterly visit ($175) and was charged for the initial again ($285) so that's quite a difference that I was not expecting to be charged and caused a little commotion at my bank. This was last week and of course I have done emails, phone calls.. gotten the standard one line response "I'll call you" or "I'll look into it".. or no answer. Should I just kiss that money goodbye?

Hi @ddj....um, I am really sorry about your situation...but from my experience thus far, I wouldn't expect any money back from Rick...did you try to tell your bank or credit card company that you did not agree to that amount and to have them charge back the difference? I think that would be your only hope for recovering any funds.
Haha, the standard half-sentence responses...sounds just like the ones I've been getting lately..."I'll look into it" "I'll call you" over and over...
Not laughing at your situation, I am just laughing that he's giving the standard BS responses to everyone else...ugh

Anyway, call whomever manages your credit card and explain that the charge wasn't the amount you agreed to pay. See what they can do for you.
I am sure they can try to resolve it.
Maybe Rick will respond once a financial institution contacts him..

    Good luck!

It's really a shame that Rick won't do the decent thing and resolve the problems people are having. Business can't be that great for the few remaining services. You'd think that they would want to keep as many clients happy as possible. If he won't respond, then the only way to get your money back is to have the CC company reject the charge.

Did you use a credit card or a bank debit card? If you used a credit card you can easily dispute the charge and get a charge back. Debit cards not so easy, if you did use a debit I would report the charge as fraud. It may take some time but there a chance you'll be bale to get your $ back.

Goin forward always use a credit card or a pre paid credit card, this will save you many head aches if another problem like this would arise again

    Good Luck with it bud

I am telling you, Rick is not located in the US. And do not hesitate to do a charge back.

I take it that you have had the...ahem...pleasure of working with rick as well?
It is a shame, I am constantly surprised..

I ended up having to order a phone consult, and pay for it. Seems Rick BS-ed me long enough to end up conveniently at the scheduling/one month due date mark.
I will update this forum after that occurs (still haven't received a call, I placed the order Friday) and see if my problem was resolved.
Rick assured me he would relay my dosing discrepancy to the doctor before he calls me, but I will find out when they call.

If they give me issues I will definitely not be using 1st choice ever again.

    Thumbs down  more BS...

BTW an update to everyone...I broke down out of pure desperation and ordered one last phone consult with Rick to see if the dr would resolve my recent issues...I ordered the phone consult Friday.
Rick told me the doctor had to respond within 24-48 business hours, so Tuesday the latest he would call me.
When they never called Tuesday evening, he emailed me this morning with the office number and told me to call and speak with the office manager that she would resolve this.
Well, I called the doctors office 4 times today and left messages.
I only got the answering service (why, I have no idea, as it was during normal office hours) and still haven't received a call.
I still have not received a call from the Dr. and I have called Rick several times today and received no response via phone.
He did respond later via email, telling me that maybe I called the Dr. when they were out of the office, as if it were my fault or as though he were trying to make excuses for the doctor.
    I am beyond annoyed.
I leave town tomorrow and have no faith this will even take place now.
Um, where did my $$ go again?!?!?!

Bianca, I feel your pain. Over the years I have gone through similar frustrations when the dr you get is not really caring for the patient, plus trying to deal with Rick on a limited basis with emails that sometimes seem to take forever.
I do believe that the poster that says Rick is not in the U.S. is wrong. He is in Florida.

@Waitin, yea it's been over a week now that I placed my order for a phone consult and of course, I have yet to hear from the doctor
I ran out of my meds LONG AGO
and it's been longer than 30 days since I got my last prescription
I don't know if it is the doctor I am using or Rick but every F-ing interaction is never easy and since I started doing business with Rick, I have not has a stressless day...

Bianca, have you looked into other referral sources? I'm thinking it is time to sever ties with Rick here. You seem to just be throwing good money after bad at this point.

I live in Florida and they have eliminated majority of the pain management clinics!! People were coming here from all over the country to get scripts with fake records. Florida has really cracked down and I believe only legitimate pain clinics are still in business!

yes @lucyloo, you are all too familiar with my 1st choice drama! I am currently looking into other companies and plan to change soon.
In the mean time, I am hoping to hear from the Dr tomorrow as Rick has promised, but I am not counting on it...

    @Pi3r0, no
I yesterday and left a message with the office manager, she called me back this morning.
She was about to give me the same tiny supply that the Dr. gave me during my first f2f (more info on that experience you can find in my rant thread on Rick and 1st Choice) because he hadn't seen my records yet.
I had to go into my whole long story again explaining that I have since submitted my records and they will see that I need 4 times what was prescribed me per day, or at least TWICE (the Dr. gave me 2 pills per day.....in what world is that a therapeutic pain management dosage?!?)
anyway, she said she had to talk to the doctor first, and would call me back.
I called her at 4:45PM when I hadn't heard from anyone and she told me that "the doctor had to leave suddenly early this afternoon for an unknown emergency"
...funny because that is the same wording they used when I was there for my f2f and he disappeared/wasn't able to see me after I waited 2.5 hours.
But I digress....this broad told me she would call me or have the Dr. call me tomorrow.
I told her anytime I would take the call...
    we shall see...

Rick has fish hooks in his pockets, dispute the charge with your CC company, I am also on the hook to Rick and regretfully I must stop the charge, he refuses to answer e-mails or accknowledge a refund in the works. So whatever happens now is being caused by him.

Did you edit your post? I thought you posted something about the drug test results?
I have an appt with the same dr that suddenly I have to see f2f after only 2 phone consults because Rick said the Dr required all patients come in before anymore phone refills.
I'm not sure if I believe this or if it's just another ploy to get a higher fee from Rick. All I know it this is becoming more of a pain and expensive than I originally thought (and believe me, that is really saying a LOT)
