Question Looking for a compassionate Doctor in Southern New Hampshire

    Hi all,

I suffer from general anxiety disorder and it tends to get pretty severe to the point where I find myself homebound alot. I had a therapist who knew what worked but has since moved on. I've been to a couple doctors and they seem to brush off my GAD. I have yet been able to find a doctor who I can sit down with and who actually understands my anxiety issues again. Any recommendations in the Southern New Hampshire area?

    Thanks.

    ADR

In terms of a recommendation for a local doctor in your area I cannot help you, however I would like to tell you that you're not alone. Although we have different ailments (I suffer from chronic pain in my hip and back due to congenital hip problems), I too know how it feels to have a doctor not take you seriously and try to pull the old "it's all in your head" or "ok well lets see how youre feeling next visit" crap. Just hang in there and hope for the best my friend. If you don't mind me asking, are you seeing specialist or GPs or both?

Good luck @ADRENOCROME: Unfortunately NH is strict on ANY meds. Most PAs and Drs are too afraid of LE. Many have been put out of business for "supposedly" over-prescribing so ALL are running scared. If you find one please PM me (when you get enough posts)

I've come to notice this with any of the professions in NH, especially when it comes to any dental work. Needed a root canal once, got it in NH, not only did the dentist miss a root but after he finished he sent me off in unbearable pain with a note saying to take ibuprofen. Went to a dentist in MA and they seemed to be a bit more understandable, not only fixed the issue but provided some much needed pain relief as well.

@ADRENOCROME you only need one Doctor to come through not a lot of stories about LE this and every bodies scared. This is all BS in you want a Doctor in NH (Nasha) that will write for an appropriate products Dial 1-954-252-4713. ask for Rick he will tell you the best Doctor to fit your situation. As Larry the Cable Guy would Say (Let's get her done). And get off to another state where someone is in pain.

It may be iffy but it a start. Striking out everyday is a bummer. I doubt that he's quility of not writing because Rick gladly will refund you money but he won't like it and the Doctor will hear about it. And how much of a practice can you have in Nashua.

The doctor in Rhode Island lost his license due to over-prescribing controlled substances with insufficient record-keeping.

    Story here.

I guess it really was "iffy". 1stchoice has no local docs that I know of. Things are getting really miserable out there. I guess the political climate is for us old folks to just find a corner, suffer and die. What a shame.
