    Default Friday F2F

    Im currently on some pretty strong meds for my liver and have put in a request to see my family Dr. on friday. I have only seen him a few times before but never asked for any kind of help with my situation. Im going to ask him for either Levitra, or Cialas for ED. It hopefully will only be a temp. problem for me due to the meds I am on at this moment. I have surfed the entire web looking for an easier way to handle this issue. Including herbal supplements and vitamins. Apparently, everywhere I turn it says something different. I found a million different people suffering from ED due to this med, but nobody talks about how to fix the problem. I asked my liver specialist, and being that my meds are thru a research company, they dont know anything. Im basically their lab rat. The specialist did say that herbal remedies may be bad to take because theres not enough research done on them mixed with the interfuron injections I am on. The recommended that I ask my Dr. about one of the BIG three and see what he says. All I know is that this ED has put a hell of a strain on my relationship lately and I need to fix it asap.. Ive been looking online at diffent ideas, but its mass confusion to me... Im new here and am looking to find some others that might be able to give me some good advice and go from there. I really feel he will give me the script and hopefully they wont break me at the bank when I fill the script... By the looks of it, its going to be pricey... My question is this, should I stick to my family Dr., or shouldnt the research specialist do something about this problem.. Maybe I should go to a specialist rather then a family Dr? Any info will help. Thanks.

    I would go with the research team. Unfortunately, there is (probably warranted) distrust of medical doctors, but most of us know what we're doing. Because you're on an experimental med, the is no telling what interactions you will have. Sounds like you might be in a trial for a new med. Tough choice, but I'd go with the team giving you the new med. I'd strongly suggest you don't go on your own here.

    Ask your doc but then voice concerns about interactions. I believe your doc will be glad to help or give you samples. I feel for ya. I hope you find the help you need in this area. I am not much help as I am a woman but did want to say I hope you do get help. Don't order on your own as like last poster you have no idea how it will effect you. Does either med get metabolized thru your liver? Will that be a deciding factor for you? I mean cn your liver handle that?

    Keeps posted on your appt.

    @1Monkey, nothing and

    @1Monkey, nothing and I mean nothing is worth risking your liver, you can't live with out it period. Please talk to your doctor about this, there may be a remedy he/she can help with. As you stated this is temporary, I think your significant other would rather have you alive. Please don't go this on your own, I think your liver specialist would be a good place to start. I am sorry you are having this side effect, but please don't be short sighted and do anything impulsive such as ordering online before you understand all the possible side effects. Your liver specialist may be able to speak with your team and collaborate to help find a solution. Good luck.

    Thanks so much for the information. I did hear back from the liver specialist. The drug I am on is the FDA approved medicine that's been used for years. There were two sides to this research We either were placed on the meds that I am on, or the new, unapproved meds, which I am lucky enough to have missed. The specialist said VIAGRA, CIALAS, or LEVITRA would be safe for me to take. I'm not liking the idea of a product that I am not sure of what's exactly in it, such as a fake or mixed pull from a pill mill. I do know that there are trusted brands out there. Finding such thing will be the challenge or otherwise I will be paying BIG money for what I seek. I thought about maybe testosterone therapy, but the many years that I used anabolics as a young bodybuilder might also be the reason for my problems now, so I hate to go that route. Plus the test would be harder on my liver too...I do know. that my liver biopsy came back perfect. no scarring, no swelling. Apparently the hep c was caught in early stages and is now dormant.

    *This post was auto-merged. The following text was added 19 minutes after the last post:*

    I was also placed on generic LEXAPRO for anti depression at the time I started this liver med. I thought it might be a side effect of it, so I discontinued it. Apparently this was not the problem. The Lexapro helps me keep a even temperment, and I really dont feel anything from it. I will probably get back on it immediately now. As far as taking anything else, I havent. Im thinking maybe try a sample pack from the DR. Then if it works, look around and see if theres any place I can get them cheaper, with a script. If all else fails, I always can go to WALMART PHARM..

    @1Monkey, congrats on the good news!! If you have medical insurance I believe they will cover ED med as long as you have a script. If you don't have insurance check with your MD, many times they have programs to help with the cost. I had a liver scare from too much tylenol, I was so scared. Thank God all my enzymes were and remain normal. I felt like such a moron tylenol of all things! But I learned my lesson and protect my liver at all costs. Stay healthy.

    Good news! my dr. prescribed Cialas. He said to try it put and have me three refills of six 20 mg pills. I went to the pharmacy and filled the script. But the little guy behind the counter said my insurance only covered three pills. I paid 50.00 and headed out. So the bottle is three refills of three pills. I thought I would have had 18 total, but I guess, 9 will let me know how it works for me. I asked him about ordering from Canada, he said that would work and if I like them he would write a script for three month supply. maybe it's cheaper that way. Do until then, I will see how these go. Hell, i'm going out tonight..lol......

    Your insurance will only cover 3 pills a month? That is all the sex you are allowed to have in a month? Whoever made that rule must have been a prude.

    I actually was confused about the whole thing. However, speaking to my dr. he told me no worries, that he will give me a 90 day script and the number to a canadian pharmacy tht he knows is legit and will give me decent prices. I did speak to a close friend of mine today and he said he was fixing to cross into mexico. He's going to get prices for products there for me as well. I cannot afford these prices. Im 40 , divorced, and I need these things temporarily. There pills just isn't enough. lol... atleast not at this time in my life

    Also, 20 mg is a pretty high dose of Cialis. I would definitely try breaking them in 1/3's or maybe half. When my test levels were found to be in the dumps my Dr. gave me the same thing except he handed me a 30 x 20 mg Cialis trial pack for free (lucky me). I couldn't even wear boxers for a week because just the rubbing of the fabric would get me going. I know we have different causes but the pills aren't cheap no matter which way you go (since an erection is normally free of charge) so use as little as possible for the desired effect.
