Has Anyone Tried Kratom?

@chemicalchart makes a good point - when I saw Rescue3000's post I felt like sharing immediately. I agree about the misinformation about kratom and I also confess that I did not read the whole thread before posting, but it's on my reading list for tomorrow night. I am a member at Kratom Connoisseurs and it is the place to go for info on this plant.

chemicalchart "bumped" the info higher up the thread for new posters - it's a great way to keep a thread on point and remind new posters that important info is already here. Thanks for the reminder.

If you read the whole thread (which from what I'm seeing, most people recently posting haven't) you would have just read it. Like @Rescue3000 says, there is much misinformation flying around about Kratom so I thought I would drag some info to the front of the thread. Anyone who wants to research Kratom in depth, go to Kratom Connoisseurs and tell them sambob sent you.

The amount of "Capsule you would have to ingest would be insane...maybe if you had the ultra enhanced triple XXX high dollar kratom ok but the kratom most here could afford,well Here ya go who wants to take 24x2 pieces of plastic into there stomACH? Not I Just Toss 2 tablespoons Then down your coffie and go 2 SEA.Kratom is insoluble in Hot of even boiling water ..Ya have TO MAN UP and toss it down........the last advise on Kratom,,,its getting tiresome ....isn't it?~~~~Peace and Regards ~~~Captain

actually each capsule contains .5 to .6 of a gram of powdered kratom. if you take 4 thats is 2 grams which most strains are active at 2 grams. you would not need 24 caps(would be a waste,i think). and they are veggie caps which are made from natural material and the body has no problem with them.

I also dont seem to have that same effect when taking kratom capsules like @Rescue3000 said. I have to do a toss and wash to get my desired effect, although it is inconvenient at times. Maybe that has something to do with peoples digestive tracts being different in breaking down foods. idk. I also find taking it with coffee or a hot liquid better for me.

If I got the largest horse capsules and took the tablespoon dose I usually take I don't think it would fit in 10 capsules...and mind you I tried the filling capsule thing 12 years ago been, there done that.~~~AND .it was a waste of time and energy..Just the Captains advise from years of personal hands on experience with kratom and Thats everything in a nutshell..What you need to take for medicinal effect will not fit in one nut shell Two walnuts or three maybe and thats alot of capsules..You can sit there and fill capsules till yer blue in the face it's just not the way to go period.

That's my experience too. I usually ingest 4 or 5 capsules of the .00 size when I'm on the road and don't want to pull out the loose Kratom. I use that "Quick M Cap" thingie, loads up 60 gel caps in about 7 or 8 minutes. Caps are also a good idea with flying to Mexico to visit my friends. I put the caps in a herbal supplement bottle. When home I prefer the toss and wash method though. Like @teresita sez, it seems to have a little more effect.

@betsky no as far as i know it doesnt show up on any test, unless they have a test specifically for it but i doubt that would even happen, and no i didnt think it had any similarities like mj like the munchies or anything like that, its like an opiate

The trick is to buy the Now Foods V capsules.

00 size capsules are pretty damn small, but hold quite a bit of powder

I find that if you lay a big pile of the powder out and just push the two open ends of the capsules towards each other in the powder till it's compact you can fit quite a bit in. Even more than .6 I'd say. I've never gotten around to using an accurate enough scale to figure out how much exactly though. As far as how much to take; I found this description of doses quite a while back and find it to be quite accurate.

2-6 grams = mild effects (typically the effects are stimulant-like)
7-15 grams = medium strength effects (the effects can be stimulant-like or sedative-euphoric-analgesic)
16-25 grams = strong effects (sedative-euphoric-analgesic effects; too strong for highly sensitive people)
26-50 grams = very strong effects (sedative-euphoric-analgesic effects; TOO STRONG FOR MOST PEOPLE)

I read somewhere this stuff is very common in india and that it will turn your skin dark over time. I suffer pain on a daily basis but I don't want anything that will turn my skin a dirty color. Yuk!!

I am new to Kratom and I LIKE IT! However, like anything you can become dependent and even go through WD when you stop taking it.

So, try to use it when you need it, not on a daily basis.

Do your research. I had good success at kratompro dot com. Bought a couple different types. My skin is still the same color and I am not yet showing signs of Jaundice.

But again, like anything, moderation is the key.

I havent, however the folk a few years back on a forum that no longer is around said they were going to using that instead of the hyrdos. and they loved it. I totally forgot about katom until you mention it, if you try it let me know if you like it please. VictoriaIvy

Kratom is very effective with mitigating the withdrawal symptoms for hydro. It is not significant enough to mitigate the pain though. Get the capsules as drinking the powdered kratom is pretty darn nasty. I have used it to stave off withdrawals and it works great in that respect.

I thought about it and did a little research,, but after reading the part about "the side affects" I became hesitant...not really nervous,, but I guess I should say.. I decided to use caution...anyone who deals with pain on a daily basis is going to look for answers.. I did find a website where I could purchase it but I do have a bit of anxiety about the whole thing and I am not the type to rush into anything...I do appreciate your opinion-that's why I'm on this website.

I would not rely on it for pain relief as it is about as effective as a Tylenol in that respect. The value of this plant for me and many others is the opiate withdrawal mitigation it gives. I am still left dealing with my pain but it is better than dealing with pain AND withdrawals!

Yeah I used to love Kratom. Too dang expensive though. Everyone has their own favorite line but I prefer the 15x powder extract. Easy to parachute your dose.

I have used it most recently for opiate wd's and it seems to work great. There is a cross tolerance between narcos and Kratom though, at least for me.

i think you arent using a strong enough dose.. it worked incredibly well for my 9/10 pain!
