Hydrocodone is a fairly strong pain reliever. It will kinda numb things a little if you know what I mean. I kinda rate it as having some drinks before love making.
    Now as someone above pointed out to much hydro can have disfunctional side effects. But if taken as prescribe your husband should be fine. Enjoy ;

If it helps any i take a heavy dose of hydro on a daily basis and i know that when i get "Busy" that i can go for three to four hours at a time, the opiates relax the parts that are used to ejaculate therefor causing me to not be able to ejaculate and going on for hours. My DR told me to try taking sexual stimulants to try and reverse the effect, the example he gave me was horney goat weed. hope that helps

I've heard of hydrocodone making it hard for urine flow and it effecting prostate and kidneys.

I have never hears of hydrocodone affecting the urine stream, I myself have to at times take rapaflo or hytrin to reduce an inflamed prostate. Same symptoms, I know that anti histamines, spicy foods reduce urine flow but the meds just plain suck. They waste me. Not sure about wether hydrocodone affects me that way, I will have to keep it in mind.

Well, if you like the way your husband goes at it on a hydro.. a tramadol will do the same thing and cheap & easy to get! There has even been talk about using it for treatment for PE. Tramadol has helped me get a few breakfasts in bed.

Oh and i would like to add... that i dont need the help of tramadol to preform, just comes in handy.

One small hydro makes it so I can still feel, but the stimulation perceived is just the right amount to last as long as I want. It definitely does make you want to snuggle though.

I think it's all in the numbing effect.

Hydro's used to make me last longer (like your husband) but now the only thing that makes me last forever is rox's. For me, I believe that I last longer because the pk numbs the sensitivity in my thing (or whatever you want to call it). But thats just my opinion. I have no scientific data to back up my opinion

All opiates (and most opioids, too) can and usually do prolong ejaculation. It can be a pleasant effect - but with heavy users, it can also be ANNOYING. And as the comments indicate, some men are less interested in sex on opiates, too. Some are more interested. The libido effect really varies, so I don't think it's the actual drug affecting libido, so much as how a man 'feels' when he's using a particular opiate.

This is a very common, widespread effect. Doctors don't seem to know about it much of the time, strangely.

    ETA:

I'm a woman as well as daily, heavy opiate user for chronic pain, and it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to orgasm most of the time - the only way I can orgasm is if stop using for at least 12 hours (I'm on a long-acting opiate), or if I have only a tiny bit in my system and my bf works reeeeeally hard for a looooong time. So usually it's not worth it to me to be in pain and I simply don't orgasm. Fortunately, my libido seems unaffected and sex feels just as good to me when I'm medicated. Before I was getting treated and was on opiates, I was in so much pain and/or so irritable and exhausted from being in pain all the time that I would go days without sex.

Except tramadol makes a lot of people feel NASTY - not a 'fun' drug, IMO. I'd recommend a low dose of an SSRI, such as 5mg Prozac - it's even more effective than opiates at prolonging ejaculation but at low doses has virtually no other effects.

Its finished me and my girlfriends ability to orgasm right away unless you we try very VERY hard. This is on oxy, good sex drive/ lowered on extremely high doses. Morphine however completely destroys my will to have sex

lmao no trust me she is right, painkikllers have the same effect on me.....boy sometimes it can get a bit exhausting and I must admit to having faked a few orgasms in my day lol. My prior long time gf took that kind of serious and always wanted me to finish and be pleased after.....she was a great gf for a long time to bad she devolved into a psycho ha. Ah if I'm honest part of that was my fault can't blame her entirely, I should of not given her reason to act psychoish by going out with friends who hung around a lot of women and enjoyed forcing me into strip clubs late at night, that is right forced me they tied me up and made me go.....I didn't wanna I swear!

he doesnt take them for this effect but as a pain med when he needs it. It just happens and he goes for hours
It's the numbing effect I would assume, it numbs the pain often the senses and looks like it numbs your wiener too!

I also exp some of that while I was prescribed morphine a bit, I have a crazy sex drive though and am still pretty young.....but I know what you mean it did lessen it greatly and was one of the reasons I ask my doc to change it. First time I've seen a doc nervously kind of blush but I was only being honest although the way I started the convo "doc I love sex......" might of been what made him blush lol.

The last time I took hydrocodone, I couldn't finish. Hours later, we'd gone through different rooms, all sorts of positions, and then to other methods. At some point during all of this, I finally remembered that I'd taken the hydrocodone earlier and realized that it was obviously the culprit, made perfect sense to me anyway. So anyhoo, I ended up having to do it myself while she laid on the floor perpendicular to me with her head near mine. During this busy frustration I asked, "Whatcha doin?". She said, "I'm just here for support". We still laugh about it. Yeah TMI, whatever. That sh*t was funny.

This is a common side effect with opiates in general.

Animal Studies - Rats and Mice: In male rats, morphine significantly reduces testosterone secretion, and “acts ... to impair noncontact erections and copulation.” Tanko et al reported “morphine inhibited copulation” in both male and female rats.

lmao @ here for your support, that would of been when I said well my arms getting tired how bout you take over for a while lol. I have had to just give up due to time constraints to raw wiener syndrome to pure exhaustion though, I'm sure it's not such a negative to most women but even after a certain point they even wish it was over, only so much they can take lol.

O.k tmi also I am going to shush it before i offend any of our lovely ladies.

What you are describing is sometimes referred to in street terms as "dope stick."
Opioids can have a paradoxical effect when it comes to sex.
For men, they can reduce libido and retard full erections. At the same time, they can greatly slow down acheiving orgasms even to the point where you are just "stuck" continuing the act without any finish.
It sounds on the surface like this could be a bonus to both participants but, after a while, it can really turn into a chore for everyone involved.
    Believe me.
There are medications available to assist with libido, erections and premature ejaculation. I've yet to see one, however, prescribed to speed up orgasms.

My guess is that it decreases sensitivity, numbs everything. From personal experience I will tell you I have never been so sore in my entire life. Thought it was great until the pain started kicking in. On the other side, when I am detoxing, the opposite happens to me. Increased sensitivity.
