From my understanding you can't chargeback the pre-paid cards since they act like debit cards.
I could use my own CC and be able to chargeback but then it feels a bit less safe.
Is there a middle ground?

@ambertch No. There is not. To my knowledge, there is no way to completely erase risk involved with ordering using OP's. That is what you are asking, in essence: how to mitigate the risk away completely. It can't be done.
Why does using your own credit card seem unsafe? If something goes awry, you can initiate a chargeback. Are you concerned that you won't have the anonymity associated with a pre-paid card? If so, is it because you are afraid of law enforcement intervention? Let me assure you that if you order medication online using a BI or an IOP, there is always a chance of law enforcement intervention, whether it be in the rather benign yet threatening form of an LL (love letter/seizure letter) or a controlled delivery. Even with a prepaid, product is still mailed to you.
Either one of your options, cc or prepaid cc, is still better than what I use on a regular basis: western union. Because with WU, once the money is gone, it's gone forever.
There is another option, the virtual credit card. I have one myself and use it for all online transactions. Its a regular credit card with the capability of generating new virtual cc numbers. You just decide how much its good for and when it will expire. It can only be used by the vendor who first charges on it. You can go back later and up the limit. BOA has it in usa, check around for others.
You get charge back privileges and no one else can steal the numbers and use it for themselves.

Entropay virtual visa seems to be a popular choice.

I believe if you just use your regular CC, you already throw most of the risk involved with IOP's which is getting ripped.. As for LE, there is ALWAYS a chance that LE will intervene. However, they are more likely to go after someone who might have the potential to sell and distribute controlled meds. I've never heard of any cases that were against a regular moderate personal user.
