I am not sure either but my guess of what I can think of is 13 to possibly 16. But now the feds keep closing the dispensaries even though they have it legalized statewide. It seems like a bogus situation if its not federally approved, they can close the dispensaries but you can get it prescribed. Maybe someone else has more knowledge of this than myself. I hope for legalization for my husband for many reasons but I live in a conservative state as well so I figure we will be the last state

Not enough! What the feds are doing with the crackdowns is crazy. I did see a title to a thread earlier (not on this site)saying that 6 more states are going to vote on medicinal marijuana this year.I really think it is past time for marijuana to be medically legal in this country. The thing that is stopping it is the pharmacutical companies. How are they going to charge you for a plant that you can grow yourself?

The answer is currently 16 states plus DC.
And 17 more have legislation introduced and pending including Kansas, fyi.
I'm not sure what you're calling a "Republican" state but it looks like about half of the pending legislation is in states that typically voted GOP in recent federal elections.

It will never pass in Kansas. We are living back in the wild west era

I also find it very interesting that some states with especially lax laws regarding marijuana, are not necessarily on board with legalizing it.
Kentucky has always been lienient, 5 plants or less being a misdemeanor. I've known LOTS of people who've been busted growing waaayyyy more than 5 (one in particular with 189), all of which got off without jail time. They tend to not go so hard on pot.
In Tennessee, however, 5 plants would be a felony.
How do other states fall along these lines?

Thank god Oregon has MMJ.And some of the best![]()

I know here in Washington D.C. they have approved several dispensaries to be opened in some specified districts. The only problem is they are still fighting over who will oversee the growing, and how they can tax the hell outta the process. If the Republicans don't take over, I believe eventually MMJ will be pretty much everywhere and hopefully decriminalized. One can only hope...

I know that it has been available in the oral form in PA. I've seen it used as an appetite stimulant.
Lets say you get a card from a doctor. What are the prices of MJ and how much are you allowed to get each month?
I have a buddy that has a medical card in California. He is allowed to possess up to a 1/2 pound on him at any given time. As well he can have up to 6 plants growing along with the 1/2 pound of dry bud.
He tells me that he pays approximately 2,300 for a half of a pound from most dispensaries in L.A. but prices can vary on the type of strain.
@ajax , that seems like a lot to me. My state has med mj, and I have never heard of owning so much 'medicine' being legal. Every state is different though I bet. I think owning up to a oz of 'medicine' is allowed in my state.
Maybe your friend in California has some type of provider license?

Well no I don't believe so, he just has a physical disability and when he moved there he applied for a card and thats what he got. He went through the whole process legit and I guess the DR thought he would need that much, I duno
I looked at his card though and it says "Up to 8 ozs and 6 mature plants"
Not a bad deal considering he used to live here in my area (D.C.) where the laws have generally been pretty strict. Although D.C. its self is soon to be offering medical MJ which should make things around here interesting![]()

Valid information: Let me google that for you

WA state laws allow 24oz dried weight and up to 15 plants. As soon as a plant is cut it counts toward the dry weight, so you have to be careful about big well watered plants... LOL! Staggered growing can work out well.
I think it is harder to get a recommendation in WA than in OR or CA though.
