Sorry to hear that chris100. I've actually read recently an article named "How to handle a bad boss". Here is the link: How to Handle a Bad Boss - BusinessWeek
Even if you're in a rough mood, try to keep your cool and try to think of things you would like to tell him, and things he will tell you so that you have an answer against him.
Make sure he doesn't feel "attacked" because then the conversation will go nowhere.
Best of luck!

how bad do you need that job? keep your cool, find a replacement, then go apeshit once you have a new one lined up
I think we would all love to tell the boss where to go, but jobs are not so easy to come by these days, so try and think it through....
4 words, poop in his shoes. Don't autograph it or anything, just poop in his shoe/s
High is the way, but all eyes are upon the ground
Last time I was in this situation and I told my boss how I really felt at the moment, He was actually a very nice Guy he even gave me a six month vacation twice a year...
Every now and then i know its kind of hard to tell but Im still alive and wellchris100, fortgatlin, Carter, Gadget, Good Apollo, MellowMind, chell55, Bananastickers, Demona, itis and 1 others liked this post

Hey @chris100 try to keep your cool. If you don't need the job that is one thing but think about references etc. before you react!
Maybe take a mylan?? Just kidding :P
All the best, but take it easy![]()
Everyone here has already said it. Calm down and think about why you work there. What are your skill sets? Is he a huge factor in the job or only around once in awhile to annoy? Get something else lined up or at least consider references.
In extreme cases let him fire you don't quit - unemployment wages aren't kind to quitters. I've never actually had to draw those wages but every time I'd threaten to quit my dad would remind me not to - he said nope, put that anger into making yourself the least useful employee on the planet. Funny thing is he's only drawn that once himself...but it is sort of the old joke about job advice between us.

@chris100 Sorry to hear that you are upset. But as other posters have stated it may be wise to take a step back from the situation and regroup. I'm only saying this because it can be tough trying to find a job right now, so you may want to reconsider fighting with your boss and finding other more helpful ways to cope with your frustrations.
I know it's easier said than done, but you should never take your work home with you. Always find ways to shut your brain off as soon as you get home and focus on other things. Don't ever let it consume you. Above all else exercise can help you quite a bit on letting out pent up frustrations.
Please take care and update us.

Just give your boss a couple of days to cool down then talk to him again.

It sounds like you made the correct decision.
My boss causes grief everyday.
You just gotta go with the flow.
