How do you find out how many reputation points you have (or whatever its called?) I did look but I couldn't find anything on my profile. Is it the amount of "likes/helpful posts ratings you receive?

go to your user cp, it will say the total points you have. by the way, you don't get points for people liking your posts, has to be "helpful"

And somuchforthat22 explains it well enough to get a "Rated Helpful" from me. Thank you for clearing that up!

Likes count as 1 rep. point but only the first 5 likes a person gives per day actually count.A helpful is worth 2 rep. points. Here is the official breakdown from Dr.Boris - Each time someone hits the new 'like' button on one of your posts you get +1 reputation point
- Each time someone hits the helpful post rating button on one of your posts you get +2 reputation points (unless that person has less than 5 posts in which case you will get only +1 reputation point).
But....
[Update August 24, 2011]
Only the first 5 likes and the first 5 helpful votes you give in any 24 hour period will increase the recipient's reputation score. If you give any more than 5 likes or helpfuls in a 24 hour period the person whose posts you liked or rated helpful will still be notified that you rated them, but they won't receive any reputation points. This is to gently discourage people from giving more than 5 likes or helpful ratings per day, which could devalue the system.

As you join in conversations and like or rate others, they will do the same. As least in my past history. I wouldn't worry too much unless your just mean to people on here.
Don't sweat petty things....or pet sweaty things

They add up faster if you're a butt head, (RIP Betsky), brusque, or a shit head.

The quickest way to gain rep points is to make up an absolutely insane thread about yourself....and watch the change come in...
No thanks @brienzi, I won't be making up bs or claiming things that are not true. I'm just here because after the old board went down I hadn't looked for a new one for a year I think because I wasn't looking for anything.

Click on user CP top left...First black link in Control Panel says Your Profile, click there.
There will be a gray horizontal menu that says About me, Statistics, Contact info etc.
Select the 7th one called "Liked / helpful rated posts"
Or just click on your name in green top right where it says welcome @halcion.

@halcion @drboris spells it out clearly in this post.
New requirements to access the Senior Members' area
@halcion I just liked your post (as an example) BUT I'm only allowed 5 likes per day.
Since I have already given out 10 it will not count in your rep score.
So by interrelating with lots of different people, your rep score will increase
since some will be shooting "live rounds" and others "blanks." HTH.

@halcion
...And I just rated @Rowell10mg 's "helpful". I'm pretty sure I haven't given out 5 "helpful" ratings yet today, so this should count as 2 reputation points for Rowell10mg.

Just go to "User CP" and scroll to the bottom of the page, should be a "Latest Reputation Received" section, with your reputation score on the left side of the LRR box.

I just saw this and I know you weren't talking about me, I was just being a smartassBTW, I'm finally at my post limit for Sr status, have 18 points so after I've been here a month ill get to see the good threads where there is a particular thread about a site being discussed that's ripping off peoples ccs and I've ordered from them so I'm VERY curious about it.

Does anyone have like a list for how many reputation points gets you each individually received pip? I'm a little confused on that, don't recall ever coming across anything of the sort, it would be nice to know when I am about to receive another pip because honestly for the past 30 reputation points I haven't received one lol.
