New requirements to access the Senior Members' area

Like I say, my only slight annoyance was that my own thread got moved so that I couldn't see it.

im looking forward to the seniors area, i sometimes feel like an illegal immigrant asking for a green card in these forums. ive learned alot here and its sad that a few bad apples ruin it for everybody.

If you don't even want to be here for 60 posts, then maybe we don't want you either. Wouldn't be much of a community if everyone came, posted 3 times and left.

That's what it boils down to. But, as to the value of these whining threads, some new members seem to understand that once told.

@Lynx4, were the policies for seniors as thick and stringent for you when you started as they now are for people that are more recent? if not, i believe some people would be entitled then to gripe,myself excluded,bc idfk im not here to be a shill or a source seeker. just saying...

@Spazmatica and when you go thro user cp down at the right where it says reputation points it will only posts the helpful posts beside it then how many points you have right next to it, apparently liked posts count as 1 while helpful counts as 2 but i was told that not all those posts are given out because then it would be really easy to optain them so certain ones are chosen to actually go towards your rep score, thats what i just found out from 2 messages i woke up to this morning

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a few words about a subject that is very dear to my heart... The 50 Post Requirement So I Can Read Info About The Only IOP I Use!!! This is my 50th post so, I have now reached it!!! .....Band Playing Happy Days Are Here Again!!!! Thank you all for your input that helped me to reach this needed goal!

It was 50 posts to get in, and about a month later it changed to 60 posts. They added the one month membership because members were coming here and posting 60 posts in 2 days to get into the senior forum and then some seniors got badly burnt so now people can post 60 posts in one day if they want to, but they have to wait a month to get to the senior section (It took me more than a month to get there, but I wasn't in a marathon to get there).

I only joined a couple of months after Lynx did, and the requirements for me were the same as they are now.

No problem. Ive learner one thing from my kids id nothing has th dictionaries description. For example if i said you are Sick what's that mean?

@betsky -- I know the younger set uses "sick" to mean "cool" or something similar. A good place to find these alternative uses of words is the urban dictionary. It has a lot of slang terms & such: Urban Dictionary, February 2: party pressure

I think that changes based on post-count. I think it starts with 'junior member', then goes to 'member', then 'senior member'... etc, etc.
