rogain or propecia, which is better for my situation
no balding on my fathers side but on my mothers side of the family, late 40's and thinning, was wondering what would be best for the money. thanks.

You just said that baldness runs in your mother's side of the family. You didn't say anything on the pattern of baldness you're having (if you are already experiencing hair loss).

Both medicines are said to be good in cases where hair is lost in a well-defined pattern, beginning above both temples. You just have to ask the doctor to help you weigh your options since effects are not the same for every individual.

Propecia is indicated for the treatment of male pattern hair loss "androgenetic alopecia" with mild to moderate hair loss of the vertex and anterior mid-scalp area. Topical Minoxidil "usually 2% for women & 5% for men" as a spray or foam may be prescribed with Propecia to speed-up the results, or in more severe cases.
Usually after 6-8 months, the doctor will evaluate your response and either continue with the same regimen or drop Propecia.

And as "tinmuning" said, response vary from person to person
