Some guy told me he uses rogaine and works great when you start using it early. But He also uses propecia as well. But I didn't ask why...does it keep it on longer or something? Why do some people use rogaine/propecia together. If the rogaine works isn't it good enough?
Rogaine and Propecia work synergistically. Propecia is permissive for hair growth by blocking DHT, the byproduct of testosterone that causes hair to miniaturize and eventually disappear. For most people, Propecia works better, but again, the effects vary among individuals.
Combining Rogaine and Propecia results in less hair loss than just using one alone. Imagine that since you started taking Rogaine, you only lose 30% of your hair. But if you added Propecia, you'll only lose 10% of your hair! Wouldn't you want to use both? (BTW those statistics aren't accurate - I just made up numbers as an example.)
