I'am a female and have been prescribed Propecia /finasteride tablet by my doc for acne!

i did some research nad found out finasterdie is used for treating male baldness.Doc told me it will suppress the androgens responsible for acne.anybody tried the same treatment for acne?

There had been studies which says finasteride does treat acne. Finesteride is similar to other well-established anti-androgen treatments in hyperandrogenic acne. In patients who respond well to treatment, acne improves rapidly and can even be completely eliminated after two to three months. Moreover, only a very low dosage of 5 mg per day of this drug is effective in acne reduction.
