Hello, i've been on propecia for about 2 weeks now and am aware that shedding in the first couple of weeks is common. However, is there anything that I can do (diet, exercise, etc.) to minimize this shedding? Also, does the hair that's shed during this introduction period normally grow back? Thanks in Advance.
Shedding usually occurs after about 12 weeks of treatment and lasts for around 4-6 weeks. After this initial shedding phase has occurred most men experience fewer and fewer of these and most often they go largely unnoticed.
Hairlosstalk.com describes shedding as "just the transition of follicles from growth phase to resting phase. They don't fall out and die, never to return. They in fact "go to sleep", to return several months later. Shedding is temporary. If the individual continues their treatment consistently, despite the seeming despair and loss of hope, shedding will end and the lost hair should be replaced."
