Fake Xanax - still a problem?

I once ordered 60 completely fake 2mg alprazolam bars from an IOP that I think is based out of the Philippines. This IOP is actually listed in these forums and has several positive reviews, much to my surprise. They were the GG 249 bars, which after doing some research, I discovered are quite often counterfeited. They arrived not in blister packs, but sealed in two thin sheets of plastic.

You can determine if these particular GG 249 bars are fake by measuring them. They are just a couple of millimeters off of the genuine meds. Thisinfo is readily available just by entering a quick google search. Another good way to test their legitimacy is by taste. Real alprazolam is extremely bitter, these bars in question were pure chalk, and had absolutely no anxiolytic properties (i have very little tolerance to benzo's).

I believe the bars you got where real! They come in many different shapes and colors depending on the manufactuer. Just becasue a color or size is different from what you see does not mean they are fake. There are tons of xanax out there that have different generic names, such as Alpram, Xanor, Xanas, Alpax, and many more.

No @supertuesday is right. There were fake gg249 that looked really genuine that were 100% fake going around. I havn't seen any gg249 offered lately, I would just stay away from that brand. You'll have better luck finding 1mg xanax, say from Shaz or another trusted site.

First Post here. I ordered 60 2mg generic xanax bars. The customer service was absolutely outstanding. They followed up, then followed up again. When I did not receive the order in the amount of time they promised, they said (& did) send me another order free and doubled the order. (I did get the first order - the USPS was slow at delivering it).

There is no doubt in my mind the pills are fake. They have 2 scores on each end, and a very small score in the middle, with 'XANAX' imprinted on front, and the number '2' on the back. Some-what squared-off corners.

When I ordered these, I asked the person where they were located, and he said New York. I am almost positive this is the same 'bunch' that ripped me off approx. 2 years ago, only they changed their web site name. I researched, and they had many reviews, mostly positive - some negative.

I guess I cannot name the place here? For warning?

To be fair, the place could be 'somewhat' legit. All I have ordered is the gen. Xanax.

Just a side note: I have prescribed Xanax from my Dr. and like to have some for back-up. It is at times very hard to get an appointment with my Dr., and as others have stated, they do not like to hand the scripts out. I do not take the prescribed Xanax daily, therefore no tolerance buildup.

If you compare the real GGs to the fake GGs, its very obvious upon sight which is which.

I keep a real GG locked in the safe for this exact reason. The imprints on the fakes are not as "defined" and the size is a little off.

Thats a cool fact to come across @613. Your on your game. Most Onax bars are being copied as well but still contain alpazlam. 99% sold are fakes. the legit pharmacys make very few. I know Moose "New Email Source usually" has the legit Onax that are about the same size as a gg and do not crumble like chalk. The real onax are as good as any 2mg xanax.

I had an experience with some onax bars recently, and they were very hard pressed, and did not taste very bitter throughout.

I was use to taking school buses prior to taking them, and I found them to be much weaker than my yellow bars at equal dosage.

Hi all,hi mate,in my experiance so far saty away from the 2mg,s..too many mixed reports.
I would recommend you go for the 1mg varietys.
The branded 1mg xanax i have orderd seem to be great,i have also heard many great reports on them,anothet i would like to mention,is the alltop brand from india,i have heard so many good reports,and after receiving an order of them,i have to agree,glad i grabed 60 0f em!
So my addvise would be stick to the 1mg varietys,there have also been mixed repots on the xanax 3mg er tabs,but there have been a few with great results who swear by them,apparenty they are not good for recreational use,but for all day anxiety releif,they are meant to be great,and prevent the need for constant redosing,maybe drmicum may be something to think about if you are after a good anxiety med,anyway,thanks,hope it helps a bit..S

ive seen the fake gg's being sold by people around in my area but then again whenever i get real xanax its always the gg ones so i guess its easier to pass off.

Most of the xanax from pakistan pharmacies are expiried. So that can make them weak.

There are fake "Brand" 2mg bars floating around. There are a lot of people asking about them, but not many answers. They look pretty close, but are slightly larger, and are not scored properly. They are absolutely fake.

I have had many xanax pills all in different and or same colors from different countries. I have had purple 1mg from Thailand / India and have had 2mg that where white. After doing much research I have found that depending on the manufactuer and or the country that all benzos do not have a specific color that equals a specific mg. For example people expect .25mg xanax to be white, .05 to be peach, 1mg to be blue and 2mg to be bars and yellow or white. The same with Valium.... ext...

This is not the case for pharmacitical companies have about 10yrs for their patent to expire and then anyone can make that type of drug in any shape, color of form. And again depending on the country for this example .... the color might be different due to that fact they do not carry that color of food coloring dye. Or a manufactuer company may just want to change a color just to stand out from the others so I have seen 2mg bars, and 2mg circles and there are two many names out there for xanax to even mention.

The pyscological effect that you expect a valium 10 to be blue when it is white is all that is a pyscological feeling that it is not working because it is not the blue you expected.

If you think it is not a benzo.. take a home drug test from your local pharmacy and test to see if it is.. or test any drug for that matter.

Of couse, I realize it is fruitless to respond to a banned poster, but this business about going to get a home testing kid at a pharmacy is a flawed theory in several ways. First of all, I am sure that most of you at one point of another have seen a real chemical research lab, right? My mother, who is still with us, would likely just respond in there typical way, "those are the geniuses who are gong to kill themselves accidentally."
Really? You think you are going to be able to do WHAT with a home drug testing kid. Those are not intended [hence the large warning] to be used to identify the ingredients in a pill.....

Hello All - I am bumping this thread because I am looking to see if anybody has any info on this...

Some vendors out there, including ones generally considered reliable, are sending out fake brand 2 mg bars. The giveaway, to help others from getting ripped off, is the sites usually have 1mg generics for a higher price!!! If that doesn't fit the "if it is too good to be true...." doctrine, I don't know what would.

A friend (no it is not me, and I am not lying because I am too embarrassed to admit it) got scammed for a whole bunch. The seller won't take them back, and she is scared to even try a whole one.

I have mentioned this on other threads, they look really good, and if you never saw a real one, you would think they were legit. Even if you look up a legit pic on the web, they are that close! They are slightly larger, and two of the three scores are not real scores, just lines. It is amazing that someone put the time into counterfeiting something this closely, just to be off on the easiest of details. They also have a disgusting artificial sweetener taste, like Equal, or Nutrasweet. After the sweetener taste fades, there is a vaguely familiar taste, but not quite alprazolam, more like diazepam, which leads one to think that the counterfeiters may have used bathtub diazepam when they made these. I remember reading that many fakes use diazepam, as it must be the cheapest benzo to synthesize. They are so close, that it would almost be possible that theses are just another country, making brand under license, BUT if that was the case, there should be something on the web about them, and there is not. Plus, why wouldn't Pharmacia/Upjohn give them the real press to use with the license? Anyway, the seller is no help, they just stick to their story that they are real, made by the real manufacturer! When asked from what country, they say they don't know, it is sent out by a distributor that they use....

Has anyone else seen these? Does anybody have a clue what they are and where they are from? I will not tell my friend that they are safe without more info, but I feel bad, as she is out a lot of money, and know cannot afford real ones.
