white round 2mg ROCHE Clonazepam (Rivotril, Klonopin)

I just received a product claiming to be Clonazepam. They are white round pills with one side having a cross or an 'X', and on the other side is written ROCHE with a 2 underneath with small circles on each side of the 2.

I found a picture online confirming that this is indeed the appearance of what the vendor claims it to be. Also, it dissolves completely in water and has the common minty after-taste associated with clonazepam. However, my question is, why are they so brittle? What I mean is, when I break one in half, it doesn't 'snap' like most pills. It breaks, but not in a clean-like way like most pills do. Is this indicative of a fake? Maybe it's just old? After that little taste tester half an hour ago, they "feel" real. Still, I'd just like to hear your thoughts and feedback.

By no means should you rely on what I am going to say as proof that what you have is legitimate, and not counterfeits, of knock-offs. Also, the image match up is important, but non-conclusive. I would definitely start where you did, by a visual check. If the visual doesn't match-up, you know not to waste your time. I have seen some really perfect fakes. I posted about a friend that got fake 2mg Xanax. If you checked them against a picture, you would be fooled. I actually had to put it next to a real 2mg Xanax to confirm it being fake. Not everyone would have the luxury of having a 100% real one to use for comparison. i know the one I had was real, because I bought it from a CVS drugstore, with a prescription. If I was out of real ones, I would have been conflicted - there was a very slight difference in size, which is why I said a picture is not enough.

Anyway, the brittle part could be age. So they could be real, and just very old. If I had to guess, most old meds (I have had a few various tablets over 10 years old, in a drawer) get soft, not brittle, because they absorb humidity. This would change with the specific med, and the fillers. So, again, I would take it with a grain of salt. It could be brittle just because it is fake, or it could be a fake that is old. Anyway, be careful - those fake Xanax were tested, and the had various meds in them, plus unknown ingredients, BUT no alprazolam!

Thanks for your comments. I sort of came to the same conclusion that they are just old. In fact, I think "soft" may be a better way to describe them. When I broke a couple in half, they were crumbly, and brittle was the only word that came to mind. Still, I think they're just old because the half a pill I sucked on gave me quite the benzo effect.

I suppose I will never know for sure how legitimate these pills are. I mean, they were loose, so that's somewhat sketchy in its own, but blister pack pills could be fake as well. In any case, if the pills are (at least partly) doing what you think they do, and are not making you sick or giving you weird side effects, one would conclude they're real...but I'll never really know, eh?

I think the minty taste is a good indication, though.

Hey Morphosis I got a bottlle of those that were like that & they were right out of a sealed bottle, definitely real. I think it just might be the manufacturing process of that specific pill. Besides there are not a lot of fake roche rivotril around, unllike roche valium where you probably have a 50/50 chance.

thnx for input as i'm glad i've stumbled upon these posts on klon's/clon's either way, wanna steer clear of roche so going w/ a well-known vendor for their generic clon's, but this makes me feel less concerned if i do get roche kpin's on a quick change of mind!!

I believe they came from a UK site. They were in a sealed bottle, and I definitely believe they are real. I did the taste test. I was pleased with how I felt after taking one. Hope this helps

Same here. Just got a batch. exp. 6/15. X on one side and roche 2 on the other. They seem to work sell.

I believe what you have would be real.. Is it against the rules to post where they came from? The Roche 2 with two small dots are some of the best one in the world! I still just cant figure out when they say Rivotril Roche 2 on websites/lists. Sometimes you get true Rivotril and then sometimes Roche 2 (even though they have the same name).

If you got them from Europe or somewhere around there then I believe your good to go!

I got a bottle of fake roche 2mgs from UK today. They are going around, read the airmail thread...

In my admittedly limited experience. Medications from companies not based in the US or in Canada tend to be more crumbly in texture. I know that Is as anecdotal as all get out.

I agree but many others don't. I have my perscriptions for clonazepam in the UK and i also have the bottled Rivotril which the majority say are fake/bunk.

I honestly think mine are ok and do the job ok. However you cannot discount so many unhappy customers over this product when they say they are bunk.

I will however probably never buy a bottle again as i have rarely used much of the one i have already and i have had it for several months.

Does anyone know of a place where you can send to test purity for a reasonable price or get a kit. There is this website you can get relatively inexpensive kits for testing purity for various drugs (but the tests are for street drugs, not prescription medication). Basically the inexpensive testing kits simply make the color of the pill turn a specific color if it contains the active ingredient.
