Sjögren's syndrome particularly destroys exocrine glands that produce tears and saliva. It actually has different classifications whether the eyes or mouth is affected. There is neither a known cure for Sjögren's syndrome nor a specific treatment to permanently restore gland secretion. Instead, treatment is generally symptomatic and supportive.
As to whether it's lethal---well, it depends. Some people may experience only the mild symptoms of dry eyes and mouth, while others have symptoms of severe disease.
There are a lot of confirmatory tests that need to be done, your doctor is the best person to discuss what to expect with this condition.
