Biology question? has to do with autoimmune disease
Before a person receives an organ transplant, s/he is first given a very strong dose of drugs to weaken the immune system. Otherwise the immune system will attack the new organ. What causes the attack? Is this a form of autoimmune disease?? why or why not??? thanks in advance.

I wouldn't call it "autoimmunity" since the transplanted organ is not the patient's own (except if we're talking about an autograft), thus it may be considered as "foreign" by the body's immune response (aka transplant rejection).
