Is acne an classified as an autoimmune disease (when the body attacks its own cells causing inflammation)?

I wouldn't say it's an autoimmune disease. Common acne is caused by blockage of follicles by dirt & other stuff. The blockage per se cause the inflammation. While there may be others which can increase the incidence of acne (like some food, medications, etc.) you can't qualify it under autoimmune disease.
