"Polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR)" means pain in many muscles. It is a condition where there's inflammation in the muscles which causes stiffness & pain. PMR usually goes away within a year or two after treatment: usually NSAIDs & steroids.

PMR is not an autoimmune per se, but may be a result of an underlying autoimmune disorder. However, other factors may play a role such as genetics & adenovirus respiratory infection.

I don't want to scare you but there are some patients who require the use of a wheelchair, especially in severe cases. I would suggest frequent monitoring & check-up with your doctor to avoid worsening of the condition.
