If I suffer from one type of autoimmune disease, is it likely that I'll be susceptible to others
I have autoimmune hepatitis and frequently have inner ear infections. They Stopped for the past 5 months.

I was on a very high dose of prednisolone (steroids) and azathioprine. This has now been reduced and the inner ear infections are reoccurring.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this?
(I'm asking for a referral from my doctors but I'm interested in other people's experiences.)

I haven't read anything abour autoimmune hepatitis making the patient susceptible to another autoimmune disease. However, it may lead to cirrhosis. As for the ear infection, it may be related to the prednisolone---not with the autoimmune disease.

A corticosteroid, prednisolone dampens the immune response thus, patients will be more susceptible to infection. Azathioprine has a similar effect, thus you're likely to catch infections.
