inject humans with HIV to counterbalance incurable autoimmune disease?
I know it sounds nuts, but could this be a possibility? If HIV greatly weakens the immune system, and autoimmune diseases result in an over-active immune system, wouldn't combining the 2 be perfect? If the patient gets treatment to prevent it from progressing to AIDS, should they be ok.

I know it would be highly impractical because this would result in a HIV pandemic. BUT im curious as to whether or nor it makes sense IN THEORY

Nice Question.
And also U have a point here. People with Rheumatoid Arthritis (Autoimmune Disease) rarely get HIV or AIDS, they are kind of protected. But the opposite will not be the same. Even if you inject HIV to a person with autoimmune disorder it will affect the T cells and not the immunoglobins, may be later. Even if lowers the immunoglobins the problem is they will still attack your normal tissues, since they are not normal antibodies. (They are Antibodies against your own body).
OK Theoretically makes sense, may be the autoimmune disease will a little improve and lets say will disappear, but clinicaly speaking he will eventualy die from extremely low immune system.
