Cyclosporine is a generic immunosuppressant drug used primarily in patients for organ transplant. It is also used in other indications such as Rheumatoid Arthritis & Psoriasis. Usual adverse reactions include renal dysfunction, headache, hypertension, hypertriglyceridemia, hirsutism/hypertrichosis, paresthesia or hyperesthesia, influenza-like symptoms, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, lethargy, and musculoskeletal or joint pain.
Re: interaction between cyclosporine and Prozac, "A case report has suggested that the addition or discontinuation of fluoxetine (Prozac) may increase or decrease cyclosporine levels, respectively. Until more information is available, cyclosporine levels and renal function, including serum creatinine, should be carefully monitored. Patients should be advised to notify their physician if they experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dizziness, fatigue, or headache."
