Ok, well I've been lurking around here for a bit now and I decided I needed to step up and introduce myself. I am a serious newbie in terms of message boards, posting,threads, and all other internet communication related issues so if I mess up I apologize in advance. I have found in the past that the internet was not such a friendly place so I've pretty much kept to myself but this seems like a friendly place with people who can understand and appreciate the issues that go along with chronic pain. A little about me is that I have had migraines, daily headaches and degenerative disc disease in my neck for over 15 years so I have been on the treadmill and have tried it all..magnetic pillows, TENS, massage, chiropractor, neck roll pillows, a $2,000 Sleep Number bed, injections, anti-depressants, and finally.. more injections to be scheduled and the Butrans patch. I am seriously considering an online physician referral service now as I have to ask very nicely, sparingly and with a crap load of shame and embarrassment for the pain medication that actually helps the pain and have found that I'm tired of begging for the $3 med that works and getting the $130 a month med that really doesn't... so that is basically my story. Sorry if its a book! I don't know how much useful posting I can do as I am here to find help myself but I will be glad to help in any way I can.. nice to meet ya all and here's to some relief!

Hi and welcome~You did great on your post~@blink is spot-on~Loads of information and compassion here. I have never felt so comfortable on a board, and I am not into boards either. Just make sure you read the forum rules, they helped me a lot. I learned so much by using the search feature, and read, read, read.

thanks for the welcome.. It seems to be one of the nicest boards I have run across and truthfully, I usually dont post but I was impressed by the help and advice people seem to give here so I am excited to meet some new people and hear about their experiences and help when I can

@ddj, welcome to the board. An awful lot of us are in the same situation and being here in whats likely to be the most litigious country on Earth doesnt help. Read enough posts and you'll find compassion, useful information and the occasional randy lady.

A hearty welcome to you as a fellow newbie. Most of us don't bite, that costs extra! And may I say I agree with @calamityjane that your post was perfectly written. The previous posters are correct that reading is fundamental. ( remember that ad campaign .. Ok now I'm dating myself) Truly, there is a ton of useful information here so read as much as you have time for. And by all means, when you come across a post that you feel you can contribute to, do that as well.

I guarantee you will fit right in. Just find threads where you have some expertise or knowledge and post. People will appreciate it

Hello, it's nice to "meet" you. You"ll find, if you do enough reading on this site, you can get some very informative/helpful information. Also, there's a very important component to knowing that there are many of us out here who may not be in your exact predicament (obviously), but can relate to some aspects of your journey.

Since I'm inept with computers, luckily for me, it took me awhile and getting sidetracked along the way to my goal that there are other huge benefits besides the obviously. Like, just chatting about animals, favorite drink, tv shows, etc.

Hi and welcome. I am a newbie like you and not one for forums but I think this one is so interesting, entertaining and informative. My husband says it is my second family and I have only been on for a few weeks! You will be surprised at how much you do have to offer, in fact, I already want to toss you on the grill to get info on the sleep number bed. Besides there are a lot of fun off topic posts that you will enjoy as well.

Former DB'r here. Funny to think over a decade with them and now I'm a newbie all over. LOL ah, the world of OP. Just wanted to say hello and give a brief into. Chronic back pain result of auto accident that nearly killed me. Pain can be debilitating at times. Like someone is trying to force 100 pounds of pressure on a nerve only able to stand about 10 pounds. That's the best way to describe it. Oh and I just love the pins and needles. Those rock.

the sleep number bed! It is disappointing for me because we have the mattress with the 2 chambers so each side can have their own setting but the problem is my hubby likes the softer mattress and I like it firmer so I end up rolling off my side alot and down into his.. I call it the valley. If you can get just the one mattress and agree on a number it might not be so bad but I dont recommend the 2 chambers if each of you like completely different mattresses because one of you will end up rolling.. I usually put a pillow behind me to keep me from falling over the edge

I can see it now, 3:00 am and my husband and I battling it out over what number to put it on. Every winter we argue over the heated blanket that has separate temps for each side. I complain that his heat is getting over to my side and jacking up my perfect temp. We are ridiculous so maybe this is not the bed for us.
