Thumbs up Who all goes to the gym

Hey guys just introducing myself, I'm a 5"11 250lbs out of Massachusetts, USA. I've been a manager for supplement stores, and personal training companies. If anyone else has similar interests or experience please add to this thread. I'm all about talking off topic, I also produce music and play games.

I have a home gym room with treadmill, elliptical, Bowflex and rowing machine. All because I don't like showering with others.

You don't need to shower with others, you drink your postworkout shake on the way home and shower when you get there. I wouldn't trust the showers in gyms because of all the staph bacteria and what other micro organisms you could pick up. But anyways seems like you spent quite a bit for you home gym no freeweights?

If you don't mind me asking what happened with your hip? Sorry to hear your having problems, I have had some nasty issues myself. I got a staph infection in my shin, it went up my tendon, flared up my lymph nodes in my groin and hip, and left me in a hospital bed for weeks, was on antibiotics for months after as well. Now my liver, kidneys and GI has taken a beaten and I'm in the worse health condition of my life. When the doctor gives me the go I'm going to need to hit up one of the reputable OP on here and get my body back lol.

@rippedhugenhungry, due to a motorcycle wreck, I have difficulty with free weights and w/o a spotter, its not safe. I find the bowflex keeps my bulit but not ripped, so it works for me.

Nothing extravegant, basic crunches, presses and curls on the bowflex. M W F is 30 min on elliptical, then rowing for 30. T Th Sa is 30 min treadmill then 30 min bowflex. Pretty basic.

I lift weights three times a week, take jazz and ballet classes five times a week (I am a former dancer) and I teach Pilates. I am also a certified AFAA fitness instructor and licensed to teach Zumba. But I am about to cancel my Zumba membership because it is a scary cult and really cheesy.

Who all goes to the gym
I have a huge health club 5 min away and the cost is only $50 per month.
I use the pool 25 yds =75 feet. I swim 60 min freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke.
So about a mile..3 times per week. I'm 6' 3" and 240 lbs but should be under 210lbs BMI & all that..Keeps me up beat.
Weights would be cool, aerobix too but can't do everything
or I'd be too tired. Love the elliptical sometimes.

First of all welcome to the forum @rippedhugensexy !

I work out currently about three times a week. Would do more but with my schedule I'm lucky with two or three times a week. I do free weights, circuit training on the machines, cycling and running on a treadmill only due to shin splints. I'm to spastic for the ellliptical. Can't get into a grove.

Got to do a nice intense run today after a few days off and I feel so good right now.

I don't actually go to the gym, but we have a really nice treadmill, and I enjoy running or walking on the treadmill when the weather is crappy outside. If the weather is nice out, I like to walk or run outside. I especially enjoy taking my daughter on walks outside when the weather is nice. Exercise definitely helps with my anxiety.

I'm tryin'...Need to start walikn' first and lifting...I was built like a Brick Sh**house 7 years (age hit me too - early 40's now) ago...Now I sit at a desk job and do a 2 hour commute...when I get home I wanna' eat and relax and be left alone. I still have some decent arms/forearms and back..my inner strength is VERY strong...need to get in shape again..I'm an animal.
    @mimi07

You got it...Great for stress/anxiety and also my arthritis...I need to do stretching exercises, etc...Just walk for now...take a break during the day...I'm passionate about work and I beat myself up mentally about it, which obviously hurts me physically and mentally. We are near some nice trails at work...My sister is an RN and she has been screaming at me for a few years (Cholesterol & blood pressure through the roof). I guess they also have a killer gym in the town I'm working in and because I pay taxes into the city it's real cheap to join...Just gotta' stop procrastinating.....Pain, Anxiety and Stress will kill ya'..Especially my genetic makeup. Walking Time Bomb. My old man and grand-parents -Boom done in their 40's and 50's - Massive Heart Attacks.

Good to see a post from you. Hope all is wacky and well. Yeah, I used to mix a lot of major physical work (Tree Surgery, Fishing Boats, Landscaping, Construction) with desk work (Freelance)...combo...need more of that...and to get back near the ocean...I love Body-Surfing and getting smashed up by the waves and swimming in the ocean...super good fo ya'.

@Harry Irene - Walking, running, or any type of exercise really helps me with my anxiety/panic/stress. Even just a 30 minute walk around the block with my daughter can be a great stress reliever, and I have noticed that exercise definitely helps with my anxiety too
