Hello from a dog lover

I'm so grateful for this site. I've read many posts from helpful people and placed my first order, which I received without a hitch. Thank you, everyone.

I'm a fibromyalgia sufferer, along with interstitial cystitis and one of the worst cases of painful 24/7 restless legs syndrome the doctor has seen. Honestly I wish they would give this horrible condition a more serious name.

I look forward to getting to know people, especially other dog lovers! *I'm a writer in the dog health field.*

As long as dog's are on topic...does anyone else know infuriating (read obnoxious) show dog people? Lawd I do! I feel like every time I run into this person they find a way to figure out how to make me feel crappy for NOT having my dog on show. Ugh

Figured I would say hi! I am glad you had success on your first order since they can be so nerve racking. Sorry to say but I am an avid cat lover, they fit me perfectly and they are so great. But dogs are nice too just not for the type of person I am. I hope you find everything you need. I am also sorry for the pain you endure. I enjoy little dogs..and Black labs & Golden Retreivers but
the Pittbull ,German Shepherd, Rottweilers, & Dobermanns
scare the Sh*t out of me.
I love cats but my current S/O not so much.
Former S/O yes and we had 8 together.
No kids.

Welcome @jennabell It is nice to have you here. I am a dog person myself! I am partial to the big, slobbery ones and am a bit afraid of the little ones. I have a 10 year old black lab that still thinks he can crawl on my lap for a cuddle...but he is too big for it. It might not help that I still let him do it!

Personally, just got my first dog, a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy, named Kato. He is 12 weeks old now, and just about the coolest damn thing I've ever had the joy of experiencing.
Except when he pisses on my favourite UA sweatshirt. Then I get a little annoyed. But only for about 30 seconds.

He is a wondrous pup and I am excited for him to grow into healthy, happy, and loving male dog.

What about you?

@ek2012 At one point I had four dogs (all very obedient) and one cat (did whatever she pleased). I think that in doing so, she added "balance" to our little group and made me feel a little more humble.

If you love dogs, I like you already.

I am about to insult cat lovers: but those moody little creatures are a poor return on your investment. Dogs will love you unconditionally and protect you. If I am going to have to spend a lot of my time cleaning up the various results of a cat's bodily functions than you better give me some appreciation, and not stick your butt in my face or your nose in the air.

@Palchod Ridgebacks are such handsome dogs. Can be challenging to train, though, once they reach adolescence and the hormones rev up. I like the name Kato. Wasn't he one of the stars on The Green Hornet? Oh dear, I'm dating myself!

I had large dogs for most of my life, but now I've downsized to toy dogs and I love them dearly. Entire dogs in a tiny package and so easy to clean up after. But you do need to be careful when you're bathing them in the sink, not to lose them down the drain.

@jennabell , hello and welcome. Dogs rule, cats drool (just joshing @ek2012 ). I have two dachshunds (one mini and one standard) The standard is almost 14 years old, he is my best bud. Has been with me through so many ups and downs. We also just inherited a black lab from my husband's grandfather who passed away. The 3 of them together are hilarious...problem is that the lab is named Zach and so is the standard doxie. This gets pretty confusing. I wanted to change his name to Lt. Licorice but it did not catch on so now we have big Zach and little Zach. Anyhoo glad you have had some success and look forward to seeing more of your posts!

Hi @jennabell! Welcome to this wonderful forum. I am a cat lover more than anything, but I love dogs too. Especially my little Oliver who is a Chihuahua/rat terrier mix. Even though I broke my ankle 2 weeks ago when I tripped over him.

I've never had any experience with RLS but I do have Restless Arm Syndrome, which many people have never even heard of. It is seriously one of the most annoying things ever. I imagine it's the same feeling. I feel like I absolutely MUST move my arms or I'll go mad. I hate it!! Anyway welcome, and enjoy. There are a lot of really great people on this forum.

Hey now your getting personal, lol. Cats rule literally and they are smart as hell (it's a little scary). As they say "you do no own the cat they own you". It's damn true my cat is my master (lol j/k). I only live in his house. He should probably clean his poop box oh and I need to remind him to pay the mortgage! I better go tell him.
