I was reading another thread and a few members had stated they had received love letters instead of packages. I take these are from customs or some other LE.
Never have gotten one and am just curious what they say. Anything threatening? Thanks!!!

A little effort and you can find out all BY YOURSELF --
Type "customs seizure letter" into the search box at google images...have fun.
Here's a hint from the DEA website:
TRANSSHIPMENT OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES
A controlled substance may be imported into the United States for transshipment, or may be transferred or transshipped within the United States for immediate exportation, provided that written notice is submitted to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). See Title 21, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Section 1312.31 and 1312.32 for more details.
In other words, by not obtaining prior express permission from the DEA to import a controlled substance, you have broken the law. The love letter establishes that:
1) meds have been seized which were addressed to you
2) importing those meds is illegal (therefore you are a criminal)
3) you can petition to have those meds released, but to do so is an admission of guilt
I have received 3 or 4 letters over the past 3 or 4 years. Usually when I tried to order from Pakistan, and once from Costa Rica. For ritalin and vicodin, in small amounts.

love letters = custom seizure form
you are correct. usually it's not a big deal. you lose your order, good places will reship for free, others will not. As long as your not importing cocaine or a container from a ship the letter is the one and only thing your ever going to see and it's a basically a form letter, rubber stamp, everyone gets the same one, your not special kind of deal.
I've received a couple in 10 years or so. DO NOT RESPOND! If they want you, it won't be
through your mailbox. It's a little wake up call for your paranoia, which isn't all bad.
I received my last LL, about 5 years ago. Oddly enough, I received the order for which
I'd rec'd the LL 2 days later. Go figure.
Not sure what you are implying or why BY YOURSELF is capitalized. I have been in the game a while and was just curious as to what one said since I have never gotten one. Peace.A little effort and you can find out all BY YOURSELF --

@Action Jackson i don't think he was provoking, merely saying that it was possible to find out via google images and possibly without receiving one yourself. i doubt many would post theirs on the forum.
I don't know. He just posted he is basically leaving because of a bunch of new members joining. Of course, I am new, so I am reading between the lines. Guess it doesn't matter much, he is leaving. If I am wrong, then I apologize.

well if history is a guide to the future, no one likes changes, and if i remember high school correctly, no one likes the new kid(s)

Ranger was just pointing out the obvious, that you can find copies of LL via google image searches. This forum is a "community" that is supposed to help its members, yes, but some things can be found independently without asking (such as this).
Well, I hope this isn't like High School then. I like this forum and have met some pretty cool people so far. I can't understand why someone who has only been here 7 weeks feels all the sudden that they must leave because others are joining.well if history is a guide to the future, no one likes changes, and if i remember high school correctly, no one likes the new kid(s
Ok Action Jackson, you've said your piece and the other members shared their views of the recent exchanges of posts. Now can we just stick to the thread topic? Anything else posted here other than about the thread topic will be deleted
Point taken. I was just wondering what a "love letter" looks like. Anyway, I hope I never get one and I guess the general concensus is, if you do, do not reply to it and not much else happens.
I learned on other boards that sometimes one's order is seized and they get a love letter. The vendor reships and one's order is seized again and another LL sent.
The vendor ships a third time. It's a controlled delivery and LE has enough product to charge one w/intent to distribute.
LL's can be ignored but do not be careless w/continued ordering from the same vendor.
2 LL's and I would stop ordering for a good LONG time. Now other posters may disagree and please do. This is a discussion board after all.
Better safe than sorry. I doubt we hear much from members after the get pinched.

good point, fireplaces. we read about that emerging case. don't let them re-ship right away. try and wait a few months. use differing place from differing area.
most people were concerned about a database.
based on reading, and seeing, seems everything is being data based by now. i simply suspect, and so hope, that once a month of heart and mild codeine won't cause trouble. i wondered if amazon is ever gonna re-ship if that happens with them with their new products qvc discovered.
letter of interdiction they r called.

@Fireplaces On other boards? You mean on one board in particular? I am curious which board that was? You of course are not required to share. If it is something public, or was written about in the media, I would love to know more about it. I have always been a believer in controlled deliveries, and have read about in news articles online. I personally believe that there is a database kept at the very least at the port of entry where it was seized, though I'm unsure as to whether there's a national database (some would disagree with me about this however). It had never occurred to me that they may charge intent to distribute, with all of that "minor" evidence cumulatively proving culpability. That's an excellent point you made, thank you for sharing. I also agree with you that it is wise, once served with an LL, to lay low for a long time.
@QVC1212, DB.
It was some member of DB. I don't remember his user name. And if anyone does, let's not post it. No need to make him regret he ever shared.
Anyway, he and his roommate (a girl) were ordering together in one order and would order enough benzos to last a few months. Anyone remember how many in each pack? I am thinking 200 or 300. They had 2 seized and LL's received to their address. The vendor suggested that they get a PO box. The girl got the box in her name. The controlled delivery occurred when she went to p/u the package. She was charged w/intent to distribute based on the 3 packages seized. I was surprised at all this LE fuss over Schedule 3's myself.
I don't think we ever learned what state he was in. And I can't remember the final outcome. The female roommate was arrested while the db member worked to get the cash for bail and a lawyer. Anybody remember more details? I never saw any in written anywhere except on the forum. There was maybe 90 days jail time and a record but I am not sure.
The whole process cost them at least 10,000.00 I think. Or maybe they did not make bail and the only $ he spent was on her lawyer and fines. I am thinking she plea bargained it down to possession.
After it happened, he was gone for a while and then he was back on the board and did not want to discuss. But was ordering again.
I say once bitten, twice shy. Also never order more than what could be construed as a personal amount use (90) give or take.
Now it is possible that this story is not true, as some folks on DB posted. Folks also demanded to know which vendor but the poster never told us. What I learned from it all - is it is possible and that it should be considered when dealing w/LL and reships.
