    Default Weekend robbery/shooting at Pharmacy

    in Medford, New York.

Described as a robbery gone wrong - the guy was stealing apparently
    only prescription drugs.

Some people were killed during this robbery.

Was a neighborhood pharmacy and not a chain.

Google it under Pharmacy Shooting New York, it actually appeared
as I just was typing in Pharmacy Reviewer.

Absolutely awful and alarming he was not after any money, this
type of violence usually goes with the people high on crack wanting
    funds for their next fix.

I heard it was an Asian gang or something. According to an eyewitness they were speaking another language and were pretty sure it was Asian. This is what happens when addiction runs wild.

With people selling oxy 80s for $80 its pretty good motivation for people without money to try something like this.

If they got say 200 pills that could be $16,000.

wow. whats the world comming to. hopefully that didnt have anything to do with pharmacies starting to carry the original oxy formula again. the illegal use of prescription drugs has hit our people harder then the crack cocaine era in the 80s wow.

I'm hearing that everyone in the pharmacy was killed. What a tragedy, now he will detox in Maximum Security and come to the harsh reality of his actions.

The guy looked white by the pictures the articles are showing. And he killed all 4 people in the pharmacy, that makes me think he was a hard drug attick. Probably crack attack like was said.

    Addict.
Sorry to nitpick, just saying it was hard to understand what you were saying.
Not sure if you were saying it was an "attack" because he was high on crack and lost it. Or if it was a crack "addict" looking for money.
Maybe if we just say crackhead, that's easy and less confusing.
    Really just kidding though...

yeah I cant believe people now a days. There was a person here locally that went to my highschool and he robbed a pharmacy with a knife. He just stood there and asked for hard to get opiates and showed them a knife. they just called the police and he got caught with a bottle of hydros. Thats sad to hear about everyone died in that pharmacy. one of my good friends works at one and you wouldnt think its a job you could get killed at.

This is a reason why they should legalize all narcotics.

Wow. Really surprised it does not happen more often. My pharmacy usually has like these huge bottles of hydrocodone sitting on the shelf right there in front of you when you drop off. I mean these are on the end of the shelf and on the shelf facing the people. I have wondered if that is such a good idea if someone desperate comes in off the streets. Could pretty much jump the counter and grab. They should keep the stuff locked up and if everyone knew locked up, then robbing and even killing people not do any good. Why tempt fate.

I do agree that violence and crime would be decreased if just legalized. Focus money toward education and treatment of issues rather than punishment and criminalization. Country would greatly benefit from both the revenue and the savings of costs associated with penal system and the war on drugs. Better to spend money to helping people battle their addictions than just prosecuting them and forgetting about them.

Back in the early 2000s, hundreds of pharmacies in eastern Ma were robbed of Oxy. It forced the pharmacies (primarily) to not carry them in stock and have a sign posted on the front door referring to the fact that they did not carry them and it would be a 24 hour wait to pick up any OC script.

I was actually at that Soundgarden concert a few weeks back where the bass player from the opening act (Coheed and Cambria) took a cab to a Walgreens and told them he had a bomb strapped to him....all for 6 bottles of PKs.

    sad, sad stuff.
