Default Cops shoot playful chihuahaus and elderly

labs. A lead story on Breaking News and Opinion on The Huffington Post today. To the right of page a photo display.

This came up earlier on a thread here when someone posted a youtube video of a man having his crated pit bull killed and small dog injured during a swat raid in front of a little child while arresting the father. For a few ounces of marijuana.

It if a far bigger problem than anyone thought once all the stories are getting gathered up.

    And embarrassing for the US.

This movement started with a dog getting shot at wrong address in a Texas town.

It seems what the police are doing at this point in time is
to shoot first and ask questions later.
The police know they will receive little if any discipline
    for this type of behavior.
It's a mad, mad world we live in!

Nothing embarrasses the US anymore, have you seen our top choices for President??? In all of the US those are the 2 best representatives of the Republicans and Democratic parties........................................... ...................

Have you seen our credit scores as a country? And the covered up reports of further droppings?

How they can't even report the same side twice on the Travyn case?

The fact some nut job just won 3 mil in class action against a junk food for being.....unhealthy?

We can not be embarrassed about a couple of bullets.

I'm picking up multiple levels of irony in the fact that even the people who would object to unrestricted and horrific government brutality are too busy on the internet, listing all of the current pointless media distractions that occupy our minds and stop us doing anything about these important issues, as though having the discussion about distractions is "doing something", when really the discussion is just another distraction for us so that we can feel proactive and involved without really having to do anything.

I have also attempted to run for President - wtf should people be doing about these issues that are again beyond control aside from voting during election time?

i have been aware of cops shooting dogs with no reason for some time. when i first got clued in to this trend i was furious for weeks. if you youtube "cops shoot dog" almost endless videos will come up. it makes me so angry because i am a dog lover. by age 25 most humans have done something evil enough where they should be shot rather than an innocent dog. including and especially the cops doing the shooting. i know that sounds extreme but think about it. i know what i am guilty of. look at your past. what are you guilty of? what is a dog guilty of? a dog is guilty of protecting his pack. loving his owner even if it is beaten or abused. if a dog is visious it's because a POS human made it that way! it is easy to wave it off with the "there are bigger fish to fry" exscuse. but no. it is the police's responsibility to bring an animal control officer or other way of dealing with the family pet during a raid! yes, there are bigger fish to fry and let's fry them. but let this be a big fish that gets fried as well. these small blocks stack up until they can balance no more and topil. kennedy said, and i thiink he was quoting marx "those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable" and my hero, Thomas Jefferson wrote in a letter "And what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure. Our Convention has been too much impressed by the insurrection of Massachusets: and in the spur of the moment they are setting up a kite to keep the hen yard in order. I hope in god this article will be rectified before the new constitution is accepted." - Thomas Jefferson to William Stephens Smith, Paris, 13 Nov. 1787[2] there will be another revolution. hopefully in my lifetime.

gsg909 will become famous soon enough

it really is sad when cops can just come by your house and shoot your pets... what if they shoot a pet in front of a kid or shoot a service dog? cops are given way too much power and they often abuse it.

the other stories probably don't make the news since if this is heard often enough people will be afraid to call the cops for fear their pet might get shoot

the one referred to in an earlier post with the pit bull was in front of the child. physically the child was in the living room and if i remember correctly, the pit bull was crated in the kitchen. not sure about the crate. the child may have or have not seen it directly and i may have some details wrong because i aint gonna watch it again. but the child knows immediately and starts crying and screaming and the father is screaming the cops are yelling and although they had pretty good info this guy had sold a few pounds. the actual raid yeilded only a few grams because the deal had done from what i remember reading. and it was pot!!! they killed his dog and traumatised his family because of pot. those are not police officers, those are PIGS!!!!!

Actually there are many different stories with this happening, most involving non criminal activity.

A woman traveling in Arizona from New York (she was wanting to move there) was pulled over and the cops allowed her service dog to just go out on the busy highway and get run over. She was traumatized and had kept telling them she needed her service dog with her and not let it loose. She had no desire to move back to Arizona.

Naturally we would ask what is their side of the story - usually there is none available.

I will point out that some drug houses have guard dogs that are there only to attack whoever enters and that does pose a threat.

Many cops also have been known to save animals - this is not bashing police but how they are needing to explain what happens in these situations.

Want to get an alarm system? No way now. Some instances of where a dog was shot was when the alarm went off (by accident) and police enter and dog was there.

Your dog in the backyard? If they are chasing a perp throught the neighborhood they might shoot your dog if they have to run through the yard - if they feel threatened by it. Some people are suggesting to put up a sign warning of a dog in the backyard.

Ironically, it is peeps sitting at the internet that got this movement going - so internet helped by being able to post and let public know about these situations - change.org is group that by signing petitions you help any type of situation you feel strongly about - and they get results. Human rights, laws, animals, etc...

Edited to add: the op link does not go to the story now - just google the words.
