UK in Olympics mode

I have it from a reliable informed source that nothing is getting into the UK by post b/c of the obvious dangers and threats they also face like the US. There will be so many people in London security is stepped up so extra shipping scrutiny has been enforced. Don't even try to d=send anything there. They have to be vigilant b/c they are exposed with such huge crowds flying into London. Customs is on red alert. Just a fair warning to all. It is a country off limits until Sept. Be SAFE NOT SORRY by all means.

My neighbor however has received many packages FROM the UK in the last few months, a couple of which have been within the last few weeks. So departure from the UK seems just fine at the moment =). Yet please don't take my word as a guarantee, rofl.

On the other hand, customs may turn more of a blind-eye toward pharm packets since they're finally spending most of their time checking for things that can cause actual harm to people. It may be very slow however.

I have had no problems and have received two letters from abroad in the last two weeks.

I would imagine that Royal Mail will be briefed to pay particular attention to letters/parcels sent to London and particularly anywhere near the Olympic geographical area. :-) :-)

It's hard to be a fan of the Olympics. What makes me laugh is the military presence in london. Fighter jets, surface to air missles and warships in the Thames.

I'm sure you're spot-on and that consequently, Royal Mail will have considerably less resources to devote to examining mail headed anywhere else.
