    Default I can now say...

I have quit smoking! Well, regular cigarettes at least. It's been a week now since I've lit one. For the first time in 17 years. So yay! I've been on the electronic cigs, and it's like I haven't missed anything. I know they still have nicotine, but I feel like at least I'm not getting the tar, fiberglass, etc from my regular cigs, plus I don't have the cigarette smell that I used to have. So I'm hoping to wean myself down to the no nicotine e-cigs soon, and then maybe I can give it all up completely! How awesome would that be? Anyone else have experience with this? I've got a cig plugged into my computer right now, puffing away lol!

Thought I would quickly give my congrats!! This is great. I know how hard it can be to give up an addiction, even with aids. Good luck and stay motivated!
    Don't succumb to your addiction!

@choo2 , Congratulations on a very difficult decision indeed. I quit 10 years ago with the help of Zyban, but to be honest, I credit my success more to the fact I woke up coughing up a lung and said "f#%^'" this nonsense, its stupid. I believe that anyone who truly wants to quit can quit, but those who are doing it for someone else are likely to have a much harder time of it.

    Thumbs up Good on ya'!!!

@choo2 Yayyyyy for you!!!! thats so amazing!!
I was finally able to quit the same way. I did great while wearing patches, chewing gum, whatever, then when it was time to stop with patches, etc, I started really struggling. But with ecigs, sooooo great. I don't really have a plan to stop them. I guess if/when I get tired of them, I will, but I might always have to have nicotine in some form. I'm ok with that, as long as there is no more smoking!!

Congratulations @choo2 there are soooo many benefits to giving up cigarettes. Best of luck with your goal to totally get off nicotine
(a silly aside, but I it's kind of funny when @ tagging your name choo2 as it then can be read as 'atchoo2' kind of like a sneeze lol)

@choo2 Nicotene - the most physically addictive substance there is (check any list that comes up on google or whatever search engine you use). Congrats and good luck on weaning down to 0% nicotene. Depending on your age, how long and much you have been smoking you will add many years to your life (6 years in my case if I quit today). Plus you will save alot of money! after you can dump the supplements.

Wow, that is impressive. I have still not mastered that aspect of my own life. I chain smoke cigarettes on a daily basis. This will ad to the motivation I need to overcome cigs. Good work, sir.

Y'all know I'm on and off here, so sorry for the slow response to your kind posts. I really appreciate them! I'm still quit, still on the ecigs, and things are good there. So if any of you are thinking of trying them, go out to the convenient store and pick one up to see how you like it before you invest in the kits. That's what I did anyway. All the good things about smoking without the smell, mess, or tar
