No matter how many threads I answer, or posts I post, for the past week my post total has been stalled at 73. WTF. How will I ever climb to the top of the heap this way?

@10 years after, I think you may have answered your own question, maybe you should focus less on trying to "climb to the top of the heap". Kick back, relax, enjoy the forum! I see you are from NE, as am I, love the state but I have noticed so many people slowly killing them selves trying to climb to the top. I also noticed on this forum no one person is always spewing pearls of wisdom. Some weeks we learn, some weeks we help. I love that about the forum. I think a 'score' of 73 is quite respectable, enjoy it! I am new here, but the last thing I want is to feel like I am in a competition. I have learned much and hopefully helped a little along the way, who can ask for more than that? That being said, I am off to my very stressful job yuck! I find comfort here, I hope we all do. Take care and enjoy the view from where you are. PS, I love your picture! But if I may use an analogy, I bet it takes time to get to the top of that big beautiful tree...

Patients is something I am having to learn late in life. And it could quite possible be the hardest for me. My grandmother was probably the most patient person I ever knew, God rest her soul.... I strive daily to be more like her. And at times it frustrated me, but then I think of the big picture and I hope someday, someone will say the same thing about me that I said about her. I've only been on a month, really enjoy this site, and have realized that it will all come in time. I read to learn, post when I can, and have all the fun possible. have a great day.

I just spent hours on a post and afk for a while than returned and finished writing the post only to have gotten a sorry message or some sort.. And had to sign in again than another sorry message that it didn't post
I've tried so hard on that post.. and just wasted more hours until I can actually be a senior member... TT

Take heart, one of my posts in the past was under review, and it did finally post. I was not as aware of the rules then as I am now. It still might show up. Hang in there! Take heart, one of my posts in the past was under review, and it did finally post. I was not as aware of the rules then as I am now. It still might show up. Hang in there! No, I was never told anything about my posts being censored except one where I mentioned an IOP I had good experience with, but which is black listed here. Otherwise all my posts are okay.

It's a puzzlement. BTW. I did get a post credit for the thread I started, so now my post total is stalled at 74 instead of 73.

@RRyan, if you are up to it maybe you should try again, sounds like you put in so much effort, I bet it would have been a good read. Maybe you could put it on Word and save it just in case. Ppreciate you Ally, I'll probably get a another go at it since I like talking about that subject, I just felt very frustrated rite then..

To clear things up about that post: It didn't post, since I was afk for so long, and I didn't have the "remember me" checked when I signed in at first, and when I was afk it signed me off somehow. So, it's not under a review, it just didn't post, as I wasn't signed in, so my post didn't go through..
Hope that makes sense and I won't make that mistake again and if I ever write a post with that much thought and care: I'll select all and copy it before I post

Anyways, I hope no one has that same issue, and if that ever happened to you please tell me or post about it because I kind of feel dumbstruck..

I love that photo! I had 6 or 7 posts before I got credit for 3. Maybe you should view the situation as... you are further ahead of things than the public gives you credit for. Kind of like a great artist, the public cant keep up with you brilliance! Life is unfair... I invited the mullet and never got credit for it!! Heck, even this useless post will get me credit for a post and only the second sentacne was actually helpful. Hell, I even misspelled a word but my post still counts!

I too have had a repost removed or mentioned an OP that I had a good experience with as well.
I firmly believed that all OPs were scams! Until a dog showed me that he ordered from an OP and slowly but surely received what he ordered! And only after I saw that with my own eyes I now believed the possibility! LOL

So I'm using this OP for now but I need to upgrade because I'm looking for better quality.. I'm not trash talking the only 1 OP that I know and trust.. But I'm just in need of a different demand for what I want

And as skeptic as I am I'll never try a different OP w/o 1st receiving a Go from a trustworthy senior who reaches out to help me as I join the senior committee after about 50 more post... ;P

I wrote another post, a lot longer in more detail, but it just auto-merged and my post count stayed the same...

Does it just take some time or did I mess up somewhere??

My approach to posting is this: I only post when I "actually" have something to say on the subject. I feel there's no point in posting just to post, you have to have an opinion or experience on the subject to apply any input. The person that started the thread is looking for some kind of input, not garbage!! Periodically throughtout the day I click "new posts" and scan down to see if anything interests me or if I can assist!! Keep Trying!!

@RRyan I don't know maybe you need 90 characters in the edit too, for it to count, but maybe if you use some trial and error learning techniques you can find the answer and report it back to the thread.

Yes. Automerge occurs when you post back to back in the same thread within a set amount of time. How much time? IDK? But a lot of us are not huge fans of the Auto-Merge feature although I guess it exists for a good reason.

The previous poster was also correct-If another member flags your post for moderation , for any reason, your post count will be reduced temporarily, if the moderator approves it and reposts. If the post gets deleted , your post count will reflect that also. Additionally, if you made a lot of posts in a particular thread and the entire thread was pulled for moderation, your post count will drop until such time that the moderators approve and repost the thread.

Lastly, don't knock Garbage Posts! Garbage, like Beauty, is in the eye of the beholder! Assuming, of course, you post said Garbage, in the proper thread
