When should i take pain relievers and when should i take a muscle relaxant

I have TMJ so my dentist gave me a pain reilver (800mg of ibuprofen
) and a muscle relaxant (methocarbenol i think)
When should i take which one? He didnt say i couldnt take them together but he also didnt say i could.
Can i take them at the same time?

You can take them at the same time. The muscle relaxant eases the muscles in the TMJ area but while you wait for the meds to take full effect or get the muscles fully "relaxed", you'd still be in pain, hence you take ibuprofen. However, as the muscle relaxant works and the muscles not as stiff as before, you'd find the pain more tolerable and you can stop taking the ibuprofen.
