I've recently had to start taking them for Chronic Tension headaches, and as far as I know I'm on them for a minimum of seven months. I worry slightly about the long term effects, but the only one i've really found has been hypotension I believe. Are there any others I should worry about?
The four most common adverse events of tizanidine are dry mouth, somnolence (drowsiness), asthenia (weakness, fatigue and/or tiredness) and dizziness. In addition, hypotension and bradycardia were observed. While the above side effects are dose-related and eventually disappear with discontinuation of the drug, some studies show that chronic use of the drug can cause liver injury (although rarely) & hypotension.
