If Lethargy, Dizziness and lightheadedness that come from the sedative properties of Chlorzoxazone count as a "buzz", yes, those are common side effects.
Pain is a relative and subjective sensation, if your friend says he needs the drug for pain, then that isn't automatically a sign of abuse.
Signs of abuse WOULD be :
(One or more of the following)
a) He's taking it without a physician's order
b) He's taking it in higher doses than prescribed
c) He's taking it along with other depressants such as alcohol or narcotics
I think if your "friend" is one of those kinds of people who always seems to have a substance abuse issue of one thing or another, tell him that his latest fix isn't very safe to be popping like it's his daily multivitamin.
The drug is meant to be used SPARINGLY.
With CONTINUED usage, he can bank on the other side effects including liver damage, kidney damage, upper GI bleeding, bloody diarrhea, bloody vomit, headaches, and waves of nausea that stay for months at a time.
Maybe your friend will wise up and do his best to get some help before he ends up in a wheelchair with machines to drain the blood out of his abdomen all day.
