Default Worst Movie You've Seen Lately

Having just watched a movie I thought sucked horribly I was inspired to create this thread.

The movie? The Ides of March.
Total snoozefest and I don't think Clooney is hot so that didn't even help me stay awake.

I've seen worse but at the moment I can't recall their names. What's worst one you've seen lately?

(Different tastes for everyone so some disagreeing is going to happen but keep it entertaining and don't insult another member for their opinions please. You can state what you liked about the movie - especially if you loved Ides of March- but no need to get ugly and name calling to state your opinion, thanks.)

Hahahaha - we went to see that movie in the theater! I didn't think it was so bad - I love Evan Rachel Wood so. .. I thought you were going to say The American - IMO GC's worst movie EVER. Absolutely nothing happened for two hours. Total waste.

My DH and I go to the movies frequently now - my mobility is super low and we live fairly close to an AMC Fork and Screen theater - amazing. They have leather recliners and you can order drinks and food. The food's not too great but the experience is great. It ruins me for other theaters.

Last week we saw The Dictator.
    Before that, The Avengers. (AMAZEBALLS)
The Raven (WORST MOVIE ALL YEAR)
The 5-year Engagement (movie lasted all year, btw)
    21 Jump St.
    Safe House
    Haywire
    Contraband
    Girl With The Dragon Tatoo

. . .. the list goes on. . . Just avoid The Raven at all costs. I don't know how that film even made it into production! So BAD.

@IGogh I have the same issue with mobility I can walk around fine but after awhile it hurts too bad and with the leg issues I've developed it's impossible to say go for a hike! We find ourselves at the movies quite a bit.
Once in awhile I take a pain pill and break the rules so I can make some memories with my kiddo but I always regret it afterwards, trust me! I went roller skating last fall and almost died the next day I thought. (Joking but it hurt like heck not just the normal muscle burn)

*This post was auto-merged. The following text was added 2 minutes after the last post:*

I didn't watch Americans because hubby came home with it and said his boss called it "GREAT, BEST movie of the year." Well, I happen to know his boss's movie taste and passed. His boss dragged us all to see Losers in the theatre. I almost threw my popcorn at him to amuse myself. Turned out the boss did it as a joke and then they both got someone else in the office to watch it that way. I'd never last where he works. That ain't funny wasting 2 hours of my life on total suckage LOL

I've thought about his new one that just hit DVD too but despite it's rave reviews by critics it strikes me as looking rather dull.

I just saw Five Year & American Reunion for Mother's Day...Reunion was great if you loved the orig.
Drive in's will be our thing until cold weather hits...2 movies for the price of one! Can't beat that!

I recommend Hunger Games but read the book first if you like reading. Great movie but not as great as the book. I want to see What to Expect When You're Expecting but worry it's like the other Lopez pregnancy movie and will fall flat, worth a Redbox price but not theatre, you know?

How does something that dull get made? Not even Ryan Reynolds face and Denzel Washington's smooth voice could make up for it...

On a lighter note, I thought The Dictator was hilarious (and that's from someone who doesn't like comedies.)

"the wicker tree" soooooo bad! It's made by the guy who did "the wicker man' which, I guess is a horror cult classic (I haven't seen it). "the wicker tree" sounded like an interesting plot, 2 teens go to Scotland as missionaries to find a Scottish cult that love to sacrifice stupid missionaries on May Day. There was one somewhat entertaining/scary part, the rest was just embarrassing. I want my hour and 20 minutes back!

@Demona - I loved the Hunger Games series and the movie!! I read those three books in less than a week - and then I got a book of essays that discuss the different themes that are at play in the books. Awesomeness.

I liked The Dictator but when you go to as many movies as I do you see a LOT of previews! I thought the very best parts of TD were in the previews.

That just reminded me, I cannot wait to see TED and Snow White & The Huntsman.

I know what you mean about trying to make a memory and then physically regretting it the next day - story of my life.
@krit01 Safe House was rough. Agreed.

Oh no I'm planning to watch this on DVD to make my hubby happy now I wonder.....You know though for me and it got GREAT reviews but that stupid coffin movie Ryan Reynolds did was another one that even Ryan couldn't keep going for an entire two hours in a box. Thankfully my spouse usually makes us finish whatever movie we start like a determination thing and even he was done in about 30 minutes.

I've watched 2 movies lately which were from the early 1960s,I remember them from when I was a child. The Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman & the Carnival of Souls were both on recently on IFC channel.TThey are so cheesy but I do remember watching them when I was a little girl. The Carnival of Souls was especially scary even though it wasn't a good movie.I do remember watching them back in the 1960s.

A few months ago I saw this list and went through it - the most disturbing movies of all time. I've only seen three of them and had to google the rest. OMFG - I was disturbed simply reading the synopsis's - really. I mean, who came up with the concept of Human Centipede? Nevermind - why there are sequels. Anyway - here's the list:

The 15 Most Disturbing Movies Ever Made

Can't wait to hear some feedback!

I am not sure if it is against the rules to link this website. If it is please remove it and if someone can clarify that I would appreciate it. I'm wondering if all links are prohibited or only ones that are OP related?

@IGogh If you made it through tHC movies, you'll have no problem with that list, or any movie ever created--congrats, you are now a blob of desensitised flesh.

Hard Candy, Last House on the Left, I Spit On Your Grave, Jacob's Ladder and Audition were all pretty enjoyable, and they only have a few tough scenes to watch IMO.

I had to watch Eraserhead and Requiem for a Dream for a film course and amazingly they both turned out to be cool films. I noticed some students walking out in Requiem for a Dream, even though I thought Eraserhead was more... disturbing.

I really hate Salo and Cannibal Holocaust. Both are a little preachy for my taste, though I really wanna know what other people think of them.

I think I'll make my way through the rest of the list next weekend, which is a really cool find btw. Movie night, anyone?

I know this won't be popular because it is a cult classic for some reason but I finally saw The Big Lebowski and OMG it is bad. I tried three times to watch it because i figured it must get better based on it's legacy but just couldn't make it through the entire thing.

The other one is Rango, the kids film. Went with my daughters and wanted to slit my wrists about a half hour into it. Beautiful animation though.

Haha @Pappasan - I couldn't get through that movie, either. Too weird. Another movie I sat through (angrily) was Eat Love Pray. I just didn't CARE.

Hmmmm. . . children's films. We don't watch too many traditional movies as my kids are pretty young. We had a terribly long run with Calliou, Wonder Pets, etc. I'm so glad we've moved on. . .to My Little Pony.

I must confess I have seen nothing on either 15 list, however, my son is at an age where horror flicks have started to appeal to him and I can at least figure out now why my spouse was a little upset at what he'd been watching with friends (aka Deliverance)
I've only heard pop culture references to it, I guess I'm just too girly for much in the disturbing category as the only ones that come to mind when I think about it is stuff like Natural Born Killers & the Kill Bill saga which I loved both of those for some strange reason.
But given a choice I'll pick fluff every time.
I have also never seen the Big Lebowski.
Rango - finally someone else who didn't bow to the Depp God in that movie. My family loved it and I was sitting there wondering what was wrong with me because it was just an okay story really.
Eat Love Pray - I thought I wanted to read the book then I watched the movie. Now I am wondering who in the world put that snoozefest on the top lists. It was awful.

My favorite oldie movie is The Fighting Sullivans..no one has ever heard of it, but it's one I really can watch a million times for some horrible reason because I know how it ends and that totally sucks.

We used to have to watch all the kid films now it's me who wants to watch them once in awhile. Don't worry @IGogh you'll get your turn with them...it's not too far from My Little Ponies unless you are lucky and have ADD kids that can't sit through an hour and a half film

*This post was auto-merged. The following text was added 7 minutes after the last post:*

And thank you sooooo much for the disturbing images in those list!!!!!!!! My son just took his dad to his early Father's Day gift (he won tickets to Battleship) and here I am home alone for a few hours running around and locking my doors now :P

I hate everything you just said. You have to like Rango if you like Hunter S. Thompson. The Big Lebowski is a great movie. It has a religion called Dudeism based upon its teachings and I sir am a Dudeist priest.

My 8 year old nephew is visiting my dad and stepmom for 2 weeks so my husband and I try to take him a few times a week to entertain him. Had to find a movie that was not PG13 yet not a kiddie movie. Our only option was The Three Stooges. I never would have paid to see that movie had it not been to entertain him lol it was so horrible.
