My friend just got pregnant and her husband takes Toprol. Can that harm the unborn baby?
the medications name is Toprol XL

No, the male sperm is pretty much unaffected by medication. If she were the one taking it that would be a different story.

The only thing that can harm a baby is something the MOTHER takes. Sperm had no effect on a fetus(unless they have a STD).

No not if the father is taking it...if the mother was then yes it could...
