When will I see an improvement taking Terbinafine (Oral) for 3 months
I was told i had a toenail fungus and i needed to take these pills for 3 months. Its been a month now officially yesterday, and i can tell from the nail fold going upwards its pink (healthy) but what about the top portion? The nail part (Where you can cut, trim and have a french tip) still has discoloration and hasn't grown at all.
Also, the swelling from the nail fold hasn't gone down yet completely either but there's improvement compared to the beginning.

I wanna know when there is no more discoloration, when does it start actually GROWING OUT, and when the swelling should be completely flat. Please help, and i'd appreciate unnecessary comments. PLEASE, answer all 3 questions to the best of your ability.

Treatment of onychomycosis or toenail fungus is challenging because the infection is embedded within the nail and is difficult to reach. As a result full removal of symptoms is very slow and may take a year or more.

Also, it is common that a toenail fungus be confused with other toenail problems like nail psoriasis, lichen planus, contact dermatitis, trauma, nail bed tumor or yellow nail syndrome. It would be better if you can have laboratory confirmation done.
