Is Terbinafine good for a skin rash

I was diagnosed with a fungal skin rash and went to a clinic one night.

The doctor looked at it and said it was a fungal rash and said Terbinafine would cure it however it may take up to 14 days.

I am just past the halfway point and don't even know what I am looking for.

After looking up the medicine online I found out it is a generic Lamasil and is mainly for toenail and fingernail fungus infections.

Thoughts?
Note: I am already taking the medication. I was prescribed it and went and got it. I am past the halfway point. I am just curious. Did he prescribe the wrong stuff?

Terbanafine can also be used to treat skin infections which are fungal in nature.
