Is there any risk to an unborn child if a male is taking Toprol XL

My friend just got pregnant and her husband takes Toprol. Can that harm the unborn baby?

No, the male sperm is pretty much unaffected by medication. If she were the one taking it that would be a different story.

The only thing that can harm a baby is something the MOTHER takes. Sperm had no effect on a fetus(unless they have a STD).
