    Unhappy Life is my trigger.

Shit happens everyday, to everyone. Some less than others, some more.

I've been prescribed 2mg Clonazpam for 4 years, now.. which has helped so much.

But when it's time to start tapering... pretty sure all hell will break loose.

Life today is one big trigger for anxiety! Look in the lines at any pharmacy & most people are getting anti-anxiety meds, anti-depressant meds, sleep aids. World gone bad. Hope you get thru it ok! We are all on that same Titanic, you are not alone!

There are physical withdrawals, but also mental. If you start worrying about tapering, then you will induce anxiety and withdrawals will be a lot worse; sometimes it's all your mindset. If you think that you'll be strong without clonazepam, then you will be likely to taper off successfully.....(I know, easier said than done, right?) The most important thing is to just take it one day at a time.

    I agree 100% with that.

Don't worry about something that's not happened yet, we al do it, myself included, and I drive myself slowly insane, even when I know that things are probably going to be ok.

Take one day at a time, even take each hour at a time..keep yourself busy, do anything to not sit there and reflect on past experiences, and think of what you can do to soften the blow this time around.

I won't say think positive..because when people say that to me, I want to punch them in the neck.

    Just don't think negative.

Tapering really really is hard. Klonopin is kinda like a bandaid doesnt fix the problem but helps it temporarily. Its a shame theres not a cure for anxiety, so docs give us addictive meds that when taken off abrubtly or slowly can feel like hell. Seriously I went 3 days without benzos once cause my doc cut me off for no reason, on the third day i went to a hospital on a siezure. Its a good thing you got a taper going on, otherwise, it would be worse, but i still feel for ya. Some docs can be unethical at times unfortunately

Timing is also a key factor. If you're going through a rough patch in life it'd be better to wait until your life is more stable and you FEEL ready. Nobody should be forced to w/d from benzos against their will if they have been on them for a length of time. Jmo.

Life is a trigger for every emotion - anxiety, anger, and sadness but I was always told by my mother that without those feelings (with or without meds) you will never feel happiness. Sometimes I wonder what real happiness is or was. It seems when sh!t hits the fan, everything falls apart.

I'm in the same boat. More worried about the physical WD symptoms, i.e. seizures. The mental part is exactly that, mental, and we just have to deal with the cards we draw. Good luck brother, you are not alone.

I wish you all the luck. I went cold turkey off xanax once and had increasing twiches throughout my body that finally progressed into a seizure. Not very smart I realize now. Some in benzo withdrawal die from seizures. In my opinion tapering your clonazepam slowly should help when you finally stop; however there seems to be a certain threshold (minimal dose) that can be tapered to outpatient. I don't have a specific dosage or milligram/day formula, but before totally stopping your clonazepam I would hope you could be in an inpatient detox. Facility. You need medical supervision to stop completely. And you won't feel "normal" for at least 1 year. The preceeding information is only my sugggestion. Please research benzodiazapine withdrawal. Just sayin' !

I just wanted to say hang in there. And try not to think about it too much because yes it makes you anxiety go thru the roof. One day at a time!

Life these days is enough to take a swimming pool of benzos for breakfast. A lot of us sympathize so you're in good company. Keep posting; it has provided me great company and the realization that I am not alone. Millions of Americans are medicating on benzodiazapines. We're all struggling in our own special way. Hang in there with your k-pin. If it works for you, keep taking it. When the time comes to taper off, you will make it through.
