After reading the thread "A perfect visit." by LiquidOrgasm I have never laughed so hard after reading anything in the several months I have been a member of PR!!
The back and forth between LO, Keith and alumni it was great reading! LO mentioning that he did not need affirmation from a group of cave dwellers and egotistical self proclaimed new age Plato's was priceless! I am not sure who he was directing that at maybe everybody who is on PR for all I know.
When mentioning what he wore to the doctor's appointment down to the Armani suit, shiny leather shoes and the gold buckled DKNY belt finished with a nice light grey J. Crew suit jacket I almost lost my shit!!The belt thing was over the top!!
I do have to hand it to Liquid for doing the research and finding a shrink that had 8 infractions between 2007-2012 this guy does his homework. It is wild that a doctor would write 2mg of Klonopin 3X a day with I guess another script for 40 1mg Xanax for break through anxiety on the first visit in 15 minutes! I guess the Paxil script was some kind of cover his ass thing for the doctor. I wonder when the follow up appointment is 60/90 days? I assume all fees for the doctor and medications will obviously be cash only at a small mom and pop pharmacy.
I have to thank everybody who contributed to this thread you put a huge smile on this guys face!
Liquid you certainly have me thinking and googling shrinks in my area. What do I have to lose maybe $150 for the doctor's appointment. The key from his thread is you must pick the right MD and wear your best clothes if you have any chance of getting scripted benzos and not some SSRI crap scripts. It is sad that in 2012 you have to go to these lengths to treat GAD, panic attacks and other disorders that can be controlled with Benzos!! We all know the dangers of benzo use and it is not to be taken lightly!!
BRAVO!!!!!

@LiquidOrgasm
Be careful running Suboxone and the Benzos through your same health insurance company. I have heard stories of pharmacies calling either of the doctors and mentioning a possible interaction between benzos and Suboxone. I am guessing that you will pay cash for the Klonopin and Xanax. The whole insurance/pharmacy thing and computer cross checking scares me! My girlfriend ran into trouble filling 2 Vicodin scripts at different pharmacies. One was under her insurance the other was cash and the pharmacies were 10 miles apart. She spaced them out about three weeks.

@LiquidOrgasm and everyone else in this thread....I have to say I did pretty much the same thing with the Hospital Pain Clinic that I go to and my Neurosurgeon. I was treated totally different then I was used to being treated by most of my Doc's. (A Lot More Respect) I have a legitimate need for the pain meds that I receive and it is not customary that this clinic script meds. In my state the clinic makes recommendations to your PCP as what meds you should be on. Unfortunately for me, my PCP is a Narcotic Nazi and would rather see me in excruciating pain then script me narcotics!
So yes the Doc at the clinic is scripting my meds since he knows what my PCP is like and he trusts me. He only does this for a couple of patients. Luckily I am one of them. I was Completely Honest with him. The way you look and present yourself to your Doc has a considerable part as to what they will do for you! JMHO
Just so you all know....I jumped through every hoop and did many tests ....unfortunately my back is so far gone that they do Not recommend surgery unless I start loosing function of my legs or my bodily functions!![]()

Stare into my Avatar....Relax

I totally agree about dressing up to see your doctor. I went to see my shrink about a month ago, feeling too depressed to get dressed right, and asked her to up my Dexedrine and she looked at me like I was some kind of a junkie and refused...next time I go, I'm putting on a suit, matching socks and nice shoes. First time I did that she had no problems writing a script for 3 mg Klonopins/day and other meds.....

I could care less about this OP or his psych visits I just wanna know what the F u C k my balls have to do with anything besides me and my barnyard animals?

I think he meant for the shirt sleeve cuff links.Where does someone find cufflings for a suit jacket?
The Klonopin must be kicking in.![]()

Thanks for this tip @LiquidOrgasm and I know it got sort of hilariously snarky on this thread but really - never thought of this.
There used to be lots of books on 'dress for success'.
I go in old sweats using the logic it seems I might not swing a rate hike (been with dr. for years) and have to pay out of pocket.
I did mention my education, I don't think that is in typical questionaire.
But if it works for you great.
People just don't seem to dress up now - unless you count what are referred to as 'dress jeans'.
The brilliant tip is checking their history. They always learn ours. Good post.

@LiquidOrgasm
I prefer cufflinks.
