    Default Junk food and anxiety

Super size me or the movie where the guy eats fast food only for a month was on.

He actually wakes up and feels as though he is having a heart attack. He goes to his Dr. and everything, as far as heart attack, appears normal - but he is advised to stop eating only fast food. (This was before fast food places had healthier choices available).

This was an important reminder how junk food might impact anxiety (he did not panic - but many would have) symptoms just from junk food.

Also a lot of anxiety d/o people are taken off all sugar (avoiding high and low blood sugar) and weaned off all caffeine.

Healthy eating, low sugar, low or no caffeine is very helpful in anxiety d/o.

The elimination / reduction of caffeine really help me with insomnia also. I was really surprised that one up midday could still make it even more difficult to fall asleep that same night. But it did make a difference.

And I was quite pleased last night when we went to see a late feature of Dark Shadows. The theater here now offers a caffeine free diet coke!

I've apparently had anxiety issues for awhile and proper nutrition and exercise seemed to help a lot when I went on some manic tangent, became sober for a year and almost joined the Army. Yikes. Then again most marijuana smoking bachelor college-type fellows don't exactly eat the healthiest of diets. I need to consume more juices and such. If it can be juiced it's probably good for you.
