Unfortunately i know much more over Benzos then over finding a job...every free minute im on a benzo site about the different benzo. What helps for what at best...what can i take how long and how much without getting addiccted...in theorie i do know all well in practise im addiccted. Will try to answer every question.

I find that benzos are the only med that even slightly helps my anxiety, the SSRI's i'm prescribed exacerbate it... You're saying that everything is well in theory but in reality you're an addict. I'd really like to know how that is like... more than once I've been warned along the lines of "if i'd known about the withdrawal i'd never have gotten into benzos"

Still, they are the only med I've tried that is remotely useful

Okay..If someone is currently taking 4mg of Xanax per day for 2 years
should they slowly switch to Clonazepam or Diazepam due to their longer half life?

First, welcome to PR! I hope you are enjoying your time here on the forums.

Second, I would like to caution you when giving advice, especially when trying to proclaim that "you know everything" about a certain medication or subject. Especially if you are speaking to other new members. They may not have the experience with certain medications, and may give your words more weight than deserved.

Issues, especially what to take, and how long you can take different medications before becoming addicted - are highly individual concepts. What works for one person may and probably won't work for another. You have to be highly cognizant when telling someone how much to take, when to take it, and what it will do for them.

It has to be your opinion or personal experience, but not presented in a way of being solid fact.

I think you will find there is a wide variety of knowledge on the forums with some members knowing more about a particular area than others. There is no single person who is an authority and a lot can be gained from a 'sharing of minds'.

I only ask my psychiatrist questions that could be life threatening or very uncomfortable when it comes to benzos, unless they have a ph.d in psychiatriy medicine, no thanks, however if i need to know if xanax sucks and valium is the shit ill def ask here! jk but seriously there are a lot of people here that know a lot about benzos, don't feel alone.

i quit for 2 weeks- was just starting to feel better- unfortunately i just used the last 3 days out of 4- am i screwed?

I take benzos in the beginning against anxiety, insomia and most of the three against depression...i make a withdraw two times from zopiclon even that was the worst together with three days cold methadone withdraw happens in my live...but if i have withdraw and i have not body withdraw depression, anxiety mostly these two came back rapidly and even harder then before...i managed it three weeks and then i go again on zopiclon for 4 months...then i have had the new doctor that allows with a prescribtion and since there i use clonazepam 8mg per day ... it helps me not...it helps me not so that i even remember it but i think its better then before without benzos ... i will make no withdraw at the moment but what you guys write is absolutely right and perhaps it was fault what i have wrote in the beginning...i should write a person who will try benzos or have a benzo problem and dont know much about it can ask me...that is what i mean sorry if you guys see it in another way...a honest sorry because im many but not arrogant.

I can only go loud the Ashton method ...i think she should slowly...but i would it make faster as the method i have sent the link or i will do it here ...every three day 0.5mg less xanax and 20mg dias more so i would change it if i would. But here is the link.

I have suffered from anxiety since I was 15. i have taken xanax before and nothing comes even remotely close to how much this medication helped me. my question would be, how to get a doctor to prescribe this to you? my doc has given me prozac which definatley helps with my underlying depression but the anxiety still rears its' ugly head.

yeah no kidding. it's not good to claim to be an expert on anything. i have only tried them a couple times and really don't have much time for them. i don't really think they get you that high.

I only want to help by simple questions because not everybody knows still the easy things about benzos...i have visit no school and im no doctor i only want to help if is not wanted say it and i will do so. But not from one from more.

My guess: I don't think a physician would look kindly on a person who took a prescription drug without a script

So two options:
1) tell your doctor some other docter pescrivbed it to you and it worked
-or-
2) tell your doctor that you researched xanax and believe it would be something that would help relieve the symptoms the prozac is not. Bring a print out about it and have the positives/negatives about it circled highlighted. Bring one of prozac to so you can compare it). Basically look like you did all the research about the drug and are extremely knowledgeable about it. Also be very diplomatic about it


I think 1) has too many holes so I think 2) would be by far the better option

I have a question... How does Etizolam compare to diazepam or triazepam? I got a recommendation from someone and ordered some, but I would love your opinion on it. Have you had any experience with it? Thanks
