These can take charges from international vendors correct? and can I use them to fund my WU or MG online? Once I buy the card in the store the funds are available to use right away so I can do some ordering?

Its been awhile since I had a greendot, but they will charge you for the card at the store, and it used to be 4.95 to load the amount you choose and a 4.95 service charge per month. I did use it internationally but at DB someone once posted that you have to read the back of the card you purchase, it should say domestic or worldwide usage. Then you will have to activate it and they will send you your actual plastic card but you will be able to use it right after that. You can activate it online or by phone. If anythings changed you could probably go to greendot.com to get any information you want.
Edited to add you can use it immediately after you activate it, you dont have to wait for the card in the mail. I dont think I was very clear

Thank you, I plan on keeping it for online purchases such as these I don't want to give out a real Debit or Credit Card number to God knows what country. I do not like surprises thats for sure!
I use Greendot for all my online purchases and have never had any issues. I once grabbed it by mistake (instead of my normal debit card) and tried to use it to put gas in the car...and that was a nightmare. They authorize $50 for your gas purchase - and if you only use $20, it takes almost a week to get your money back on the card. Which is annoying.
I just wanted to let you know Greendot is really easy - and I've never had it turned down. Well...except when I didn't have enough funds on it. lol

That is totally correct, I had just posted in another forum about this. Greendot has 2 different type of cards, the cheaper $5 one, that one if you read the fine print can only be used domestically.
They have the 10 dollar one (I think 10), but that one, you go online and give name/address/ssn. For your ID info, then it is good for all international, I also have used it with WU online.
The reason for the personal info is more for Identity theft, terrorist stuff, etc. that's all.
DO NOT PAY THE EXTRA MONEY for them to fedex you the card with your name on it. You can Immediatly get the 3 digit security code from the back online and use it within 10 minutes of buying it. So who cares if you have one with your name unless your going to the mall.
I made that mistake because at first I thought I would not have that 3 digit "security code" until I had the card, so I wased I forget like 30 bucks to have it fedex'ed but then realized right after I could use it right away, you just have to click that you agree, blah blah...
anyway, other questions or to compare our uses I would be happy to talk about
